No bacon-related updates so far this year - I have been lax.
As a gift they sent a couple of freebies with my latest order. Nothing ridiculous but very much appreciated nonetheless.
End bits that they can’t make a rasher out of, but are obviously right at the edge so take a full-blast of whatever cure was applied. Looking forward to tasting later.
I have also discovered that - during these unusual times - a Piggery-Smokey delivery makes an excellent birthday/housewarming gift. Say it with bacon.
And in other (non porcine) ramblings - wild snowflakes are prolific in one section of our garden this year. Gorgeous.
UPDATE : Super Tasty End Bits FTW

I wondered what they’d chucked in after seeing their tweet. Look nice.
Found a farmer’s market stall today which sold duck eggs from just down the road. Haven’t bought any yet but now I know where to get them.

Also followed their advice and used the kitchen blowtorch to help render the fat - so obvious when you think about it - works a treat!

Point taken. Be gentle around them and for goodness sake don't show them your new mower!

Slightly OT but I tried this this morning.

It’s got a reputation as being the best vegan bacon substitute and it’s very good. Strong smoky flavour and it gets those good little crispy bits that you get from actual bacon.
It is good, I agree. I wouldn't say it's the best meat alternative I've had, but it's definitely getting there.

It’s been difficult to catch the online shop with stock recently - just found out today they were inundated after this occurred. Nice accolade.
(And I just got an order in there for the weekend - super

)
