I think the F10 M5 was about 1900kg. The new one is not just 100kg or so lighter, it’s 4wd too. That’s quite impressive.

Got me looking at these now as a smallish, mostly practical replacement for the Megane.
Stated looking at E39 5 series, probably too big.
Then looking at 130i - seems like the N52 engine has more niggles than the M54?
So looking at 325Ti. A couple on AT at the moment but twice what you paid

It has the eml to sort, but I think I got a bargain!

We’ve had eight 3 series derivatives in the last 11 years, plus two z4s, an M140 and an E39 5 series.
The one that let us down the most was the E91 325i (M54?) with intermittent water pump and then fuel pump failure, but after that it was fine.
The older stuff has needed the usual bmw water pump and radiator. We only kept the F30 335i for two months as it was a bit crap (but never broken), however the next owner had a top end rebuild with new camshafts at 4 years old/40k...
