Nor the 914, 924, 928... would you have any of them over a 911?

Pretty much spot on. I’ll add:GG. wrote: Mon May 18, 2020 12:35 am Yes, well - this really isn't all that difficult is it.
GT1 - 'period race car'. Will be over stiff, laggy, not all that fast by today's super/hypercar standards and deafening on the road. Have you not seen Tiff pogo it round a circuit in period?
918 - Overweight. Flappy paddle hybrid nonsense. Appeal largely limited to being the newest and fastest. Will avoid ad hominems as to who those charateristics may appeal for the sake of a certain Kiwi owner of this parish.![]()
959 - Roly poly and heavy. Add turbo lag and the appearance of a melted 80s 911. Technical tour du force of a looong bygone era. Only 80s nostalgia-festishists need apply. Double denim and Cindy Crawford poster folded in the glovebox.
Carrera GT - lighter than all but the stripped out GT1. Best sound by a country mile. Manual gearbox. V10. Whose silly poll was this again?
Similar journey. Was pretty meh about them at launch. Started to like them and the looks grew on me. Evo reported their spikey handling was tamed by modern tyres - and the inate balance was good. Switch flicked. Deep desire.
Yeah, at least until you clocked the sidewalls on that Guards Red 918 above that is.mik wrote: Mon May 18, 2020 10:33 pmSimilar journey. Was pretty meh about them at launch.
