Very practical transport Rich. Does she sell many photocopiers?
lol - buttons pressed!!

Yep, it’s very practical, and safe too! I’m far happier knowing that my wife and child are in an NCAP 5 star car, rather than some old cheap shitbox.
You need to get your women a V8, there is nothing cool about rattling around in a diseaseel!

Dave!

Let’s pretend it’s not a V8 SUV mum mobile please

I’d always assumed the ML was yours and the TT was your wife’s car. 😯

When I'm home and out as a family, 99% of the time I drive.

The wife uses the ML mainly, the TT is hers and I use the Defender nearly all the time.

Even with the 500e back on the road i'll still lose the hp race

Dave!

I'm liking the way Jobbo's justifification for buying his wife a really sh*t car is by emphasising that it's also a really unpopular car

yeah, it could easily be argued that is daft to put expensive 19s on a diesel wagon, but they look cool! (and unlike the evo lawyers division, I put my wife in a decent car!)

Where as mines is currently rolling on 16's #SWAS

In other news it passed its MOT today only needing a sidelight bulb.

Spent four hours outside getting battered by the wind giving the mito a thorough clean.

It looked fairly clean on the outside, but was a perfect example of a car washed fairly regularly but never properly cleaned. It was very green around the boot hinges and managed to jet wash loads of black gunk out of the roof trim strips and around the rear windows.

Gave it a quick de-tar, clay and coat of fusso to hopefully make it a bit easier to clean next time. Even gave the engine bay a squirt of cleaner and quick rinse.

Bloody hell your one is clean and still has all the random bits of trim in the engine bay and the original battery - mine shed most of those in its first year and the battery also died the first winter I had it  Evidently they assembled them better too as the first time I washed mine the pressure washer blew the roof strips out. My Mito really was a Friday car...

Yeah, original screen too

It's only done 35k miles, it's still got the paper barcode stickers everywhere too so probably the original disks and pads. Almost seems a shame to let someone like me have it :D

Only Friday afternoon thing on it seems to be the wiper arms, I'd noticed before that their coating was patchy, but one of them is almost white now. I tried to take them off to give a coat of satin black but they seemed pretty firmly attached to the spindles and I didn't want to pull too hard and break something.

I've also ordered some Michelin PS4 s for it. It's still got the roadstones one it that were obviously chucked on to sell it when my mum bought it. They've done over 20k miles and still have tons of tread left, probably at least 5mm, still feel fine but have started cracking quite badly where the tread meets the sidewall so would rather get them done sooner than later.

F1autocentre ( who I was impressed with when they regassed my e36s aircon ) are doing them fitted for £92 each, tyreleader are the cheapest place I've found, but they're £91 mail order supply only. Plus there's a cash back promotion on michelins so 4 17in tyres gets me £50 back. I was going to buy some toyos for £60 and fit them myself, but it was too good a deal to miss especially as they'll probably last twice as long as toyos.

I had half my car resprayed along with a new gearbox, clutch and alternator by 30,000 miles (luckily under warranty). Tyres do seem to last forever on them apart from the factory provided PZeros which only lasted 10,000 miles - then changed to some random Kumhos which are now probably on over 30,000 miles.

Fixed the drain holes in the roof compartment with a cut down wire hanger. They now drain nicely.

Shame I didn't do it last night though, because it was raining.

And because it was raining, I got a nice puddle in the drivers side foot well.

Ah well, can't win em all.

Also, first bit of design I've seen on the car that's made me scratch my head and wonder what in the name of utter fuck someone was thinking putting the drainholes under the main structural mounts for the roof.

I mean, the access to the passenger side lightbulbs isn't amazing either, but two bolts, undo the airbox, and it's fine. But that drainhole placement? That's just bizarre thinking.

A2 needs some tlc; it has a wobble from hell at the front, annoyingly nothing showed up on the mot

I know the gearbox has worn synchros, what other symptoms could a fooked 'box/diff show?

Nothing good.

At least on the E46, the water collects where it's obvious, letting you know to deal with it. Although I bet that E93 was making some nasty sloshing noises.

That said, my next trick is to check the spare wheel well and the battery cavity. Expecting to ruin a few towels sopping them up.
