On the one hand, a Labour Government gives me the fear... But on the other hand, the idea of "Come and have a go if you think you're good enough" interests me.

I'll be the first one to hold my hand up and admit "Fair Play, you've done well" if they do, in fact, do well. But I think the current local, regional and global challenges are beyond anyone's ability to do anything other than hold a steady ship, hang on and keep the wolves from the door

It's alright Dinny, if Starmer stays in charge it won't be a Labour government.

I think they irreparably damaged their reputations with the Covid response, lockdown more and harder is not an opposing position and the fact we have pictures of 'beergate' it's irrelevant whether a fine is handed down both Rayner and Starmer are toxic cunts as well. In fact anyone in the 3/4 main parties (I lump the greens in with that too) are all equally self serving little greasy pole climbers and i won't vote for any of them ever again.
I want some common sense and someone that actually understands the people, the majority, you know the working classes that keep this country going, not the privileged and middle class minority (and I put myself firmly in this group), so let's see who steps up to the plate here.

The more competent ones won't get to run.

I think Ben Wallace is the highest polling amongst members but I can't see him running. I also read some strangely positive things on twitter last night about Gove amd the action he's taken in the social housing sector - but I just can't see him being a popular MP either with members or the public.

I don't think PM Pob would float well with the electorate.

 I know. I don't like the guy - I think if someone looks like a sleazy get they porbably are. However when you dig a bit there are a surprising number of people that say positive things about the roles he's had in office. I actually thought he was alright when he was education secretary as well, all those years ago - yes he pissed off the teaching sector but they're just whinging fuckers that, like other public sector workers, take any suggesiton of change in their profession as a personal affront.

I wouldn't vote for him though

Why is Boris going to stay on until autumn after resigning? I suspect it's because he didn't want his term as PM to be shorter than Theresa May's. It is, by about a month.

Oh, shock horror, he's going to call Zelenskyy after his resignation statement, apparently.

Yes, what's the point in resigning, only to be left in the post as a "caretaker." Can they not send him off on gardening leave like the Italian football clubs do when they've had enough of someone's shit?

He's staying until a new Tory party leader is chosen, so it may only be a few weeks. Depends how much the summer recess gets in the way.

While it's a possibility, I think there's a real risk that it'll be Jeremy Cunt, I mean Hunt.

He does seem to have the crucial Teflon properties that make for a hardy PM...

The last few years (Brexit, Trump etc) has taught me to think of the most ridiculously dumb option, and then expect that
