I have a collection of papers from the days after the attacks and it's been interesting reminding myself of the initial response.

History tends to get written and re-written and like Jobbo's article (Brilliant by the way), we know 9/11 by our accumulated knowledge now. But in the immediate aftermath, things were very different.

Probably how the previous generation felt about the Kennedy assassination (in that they lived it, but millions of younger people just learned it)

I've no idea how far they went, this was from the Minnesota childcare's and food programs which turned out to be single offices or empty buildings claiming thousands of kids were being fed per day. $300 million from just one group supposedly.

The numbers are all too big to make much sense anymore.
