So let me get this right, you go round old people’s homes and give them a shave? 😮

Well the only way to defeat this is to get herd immunity. So how about the first cunt on here that gets it invites all the rest of us over for a fondle in a ‘pox party’ style event?

Interesting interview here. I'd never thought about the fact that the best scenario for preventing spread is for many healthy people to get it in a controlled manner to build up immunity. Also good points re closing schools and thus exposing grandparents.

It’s much safer to build herd immunity through vaccination than just exposing the population to a live virus though.

What happens with this is that it puts increased strain on the medical services as more people get sick than if you had quarantined and contained until a vaccine is ready.

It’s conflicting. They first wanted us to delay it so the medical system didn’t get flooded and they could develop a vaccine alongside it. Now it’s all out “let’s all get it to build herd immunity” - probably because it’s going to escalate out of control pretty soon.

I think it's already out of control and was always going to be. No doubt immunity through vaccination is best, but sounds like that's not an option.

So they're just setting up an excuse for their poor handling of this by saying they meant to do it that way all along ;)

Possibly, although I don't think that he represents the government. ;)

Ah, I'm not able to actually watch the video. It sounds like a more sensible version of what Boris was pitching on This Morning the other day though.

Vaccine could be months away. And that's not true about pressure on health services. They should be able to focus on the worst affected, whilst the most vulnerable are quaranted and the least at risk are exposed in a controlled manner.

The real issue is for every 1 person who actually cares enough to do hand washing, isolate when needed, not bulk buy....there's probably 3 who just don't give a shit. A mates son-in-law has been going into work for 3 days because "it's just a bad cold" and his none of his family (or his bosses) did anything about it until another co-worker forced him to call 111 and they've told him to isolate himself and his immediate family immediately.

So due to 1 inconsiderate person, between 3-10 potentially infected. There's just no way to contain that level of stupidity.

I'm off to Cayton (Scarborough) ) tommorow to sort the Caravan out for the season, so thought I'd have a look at their local news. Proper non event over there, no cases reported, no events stopped.

I might just stay at the Caravan for 3 months

So according to reports, to get a useful herd immunity effect this way at least 60% of the population will need to be infected, which is around 40 mil people. How do you do that in a controlled way? It's a ridiculous plan.

Will end up knocking on close to 0.5 million deaths best case too.

Easy to control, because no fucker will be able to do anything. One of our suppliers got it:
The resort I was in in Austria had alot of cases (34 +) and its only small. As of today they actually closed the entire town 2 months early. Starts with a sore throat and feeling a bit off, then fever with a really tight upper chest (Collar bone height). Then you feel really crap and your breathing is affected. I couldn't get upstairs without having to stop and I normally run 3x a week. Its passing now but for around 7-10 days your breathing is severely affected.
A sizeable chunk of the entire workforce being so fucked they can't even get up the stairs sounds like a great idea. And that's before you start counting the office jockeys who are overwieght and have high bloody pressure, cholesterol and other existing problems who are at greater risk of just dropping dead.

I've had a sore throat and cold for weeks now, but its just the cold right? Can't shift it and have a phlegmy throat and running is tough, but its never got any worse than that. I feel a fraud for wanting to get something stronger from the docs to try and get rid.

Apparently you are infectious for upto 5 days before you show any symptoms! Mine started with a sore throat (not a really bad one) headache (back of head), tight chest, this was for maybe a couple of days before the fever kicked in
No fever, no corona virus AFAIK. It's a flu variant remember, not a cold variant. And it's the season for colds to be floating about anyway.

To be fair, the gene pool in Scarbs and the surrounding area is so shallow that I doubt corona can survive there. Near enough a different species.

Ironically, I think the most typical common cold (Rhinovirus) is closer to COVID 19 in biological make up, than Influenza and several strains of coronaviruses are also thought of as typical winter colds . Though symptomatically, you are correct - Flu and Covid 19 are closer together in terms of severity.
