So let me get this right, you go round old people’s homes and give them a shave?
Possibly, although I don't think that he represents the government.ZedLeg wrote: Fri Mar 13, 2020 12:50 pm So they're just setting up an excuse for their poor handling of this by saying they meant to do it that way all along![]()
Vaccine could be months away. And that's not true about pressure on health services. They should be able to focus on the worst affected, whilst the most vulnerable are quaranted and the least at risk are exposed in a controlled manner.ZedLeg wrote: Fri Mar 13, 2020 12:24 pm It’s much safer to build herd immunity through vaccination than just exposing the population to a live virus though.
What happens with this is that it puts increased strain on the medical services as more people get sick than if you had quarantined and contained until a vaccine is ready.
So according to reports, to get a useful herd immunity effect this way at least 60% of the population will need to be infected, which is around 40 mil people. How do you do that in a controlled way? It's a ridiculous plan.Swervin_Mervin wrote: Fri Mar 13, 2020 1:18 pmVaccine could be months away. And that's not true about pressure on health services. Easy to control, because no fucker will be able to do anything. One of our suppliers got it:ZedLeg wrote: Fri Mar 13, 2020 3:00 pmSo according to reports, to get a useful herd immunity effect this way at least 60% of the population will need to be infected, which is around 40 mil people. A sizeable chunk of the entire workforce being so fucked they can't even get up the stairs sounds like a great idea. And that's before you start counting the office jockeys who are overwieght and have high bloody pressure, cholesterol and other existing problems who are at greater risk of just dropping dead. The resort I was in in Austria had alot of cases (34 +) and its only small. As of today they actually closed the entire town 2 months early. Starts with a sore throat and feeling a bit off, then fever with a really tight upper chest (Collar bone height). Then you feel really crap and your breathing is affected. I couldn't get upstairs without having to stop and I normally run 3x a week. Its passing now but for around 7-10 days your breathing is severely affected.
No fever, no corona virus AFAIK. It's a flu variant remember, not a cold variant. And it's the season for colds to be floating about anyway.Apparently you are infectious for upto 5 days before you show any symptoms! Mine started with a sore throat (not a really bad one) headache (back of head), tight chest, this was for maybe a couple of days before the fever kicked in
Nearest case is Redcar at mo16vCento wrote: Fri Mar 13, 2020 2:58 pm I'm off to Cayton (Scarborough) ) tommorow to sort the Caravan out for the season, so thought I'd have a look at their local news. Proper non event over there, no cases reported, no events stopped.
I might just stay at the Caravan for 3 months![]()
Ironically, I think the most typical common cold (Rhinovirus) is closer to COVID 19 in biological make up, than Influenza and several strains of coronaviruses are also thought of as typical winter colds . Though symptomatically, you are correct - Flu and Covid 19 are closer together in terms of severity.Beany wrote: Fri Mar 13, 2020 3:34 pmNo fever, no corona virus AFAIK.
