TRIGGER WARNING: SHMEE CONTENT - MOVE TO YOUR SAFE SPACE BEFORE READING

TLDR: Saw a Ford GT, thought it was Shmee, he confirmed it wasn't.

So due to reasons I found myself having to return to our office at Hethel Engineering Centre at 8pm last night, and being in a bit of a hurry I was hoofing it along the back roads between here and there. Not far from HEC I rounded a bend in a narrow lane to be confronted with a very wide Red & Gold Ford GT coming at me. Fearful I would lose another £105 wing mirror cover from the Titty-X I averted disaster in the nick of time in a passing place and we passed, but not before I had the chance to admire the sheer presence of the thing. And how squeaky the brakes are. I've never seen one for reals before, and it looked pretty epic.

I couldn't imagine there were two Red & Gold Ford GTs like that so I wondered if I'd inadvertently put the wind up Shmee. :D

Just for lols when I got home I sent him a DM on Instagram and asked if I'd just passed him near Hethel, and to my surprise a little while later he replied and said no the car is in the US and sent a pic of it from where he was in New York, and we had a little back and forth talking about the car I saw and whose it might have been, and Multimatic in Thetford where they are serviced. Turns out there's a gold stripe red car in a lighter red colour, and that it was probably that one. It was getting towards dusk when I saw it so entirely possible.

Anyway, I thought it was decent of him to engage me in conversation for 10 mins or so when he must get hundreds of DMs a day and a constant stream of abuse, and my internal not-a-cunt-o-meter swung a little bit further towards the OK guy end. I quite enjoy a fair amount of his content if you take it for what it is, but I know some people can't stand him.

Thanks for coming to my TimTalk.

Cool that he chatted with you, but I'm not going to be lulled into casually taking another look at one of his vids......

You are however entirely correct about the Ford GT. I didn't appreciate how impressive they are until I saw (rather more than) one IRL. The (one of 50) Carbon Series was the one I dribbled over most.... : see THIS THREAD HERE

Tim having a letter read out on the Smith & Sniff podcast - and then another response a week or so later - and engaging in conversation with someone mildly famous on social media for having a car. I think we need to alert Hallo! magazine.

There’s a matt black and gold one near me. Absolute monstrosity.

I saw a Merc GLB AMG recently, which I didn’t know existed.

I liked it tbh, made an alright noise and it had a good stance.

Coming out of Portsmouth, a short section of dual carriageway and I was passing a dawdler and saw some bumpy lights in the background. I pulled in around 80 and a white C7 RS6 went past with the most melodic deep chested bellow and when it changed gear, had no wanky crackling shit come out.

I heart the C7 RS6.

Went out for a drive to Squires Bar/Cafe east of Leeds on Tuesday.
Took a nice scenic route via Otley, Harwood House and Tadcaster.
Its traditionally a place for bikers to meet, but they have monthly car meets in the field and was a Jap car meet on.
Managed to get a cracking photo...

Nice - that's a 1983-84 model Audi Coupe. Will be a 5-cyl because they didn't put a 4-cyl into it (for the UK) until the 1985 facelift with the more wrap-around bumpers.

I’ve seen about 10 various Xpengs this week, including 3 parked beside each other. All on German plates.
Either the Germans really love them or this is some kind of testing, or launch here.
Looking online apparently they will be sold in the UK from October. But I can’t even find a dealer listed here…

Spotted today - a Merc AMG GTR coming the other way as I was on my way to Screwfix. The driver’s face was a picture of horror as he tried not to kerb the alloys on a narrow road.

Melbourne cars and coffee this today had some ace stuff.

Purple GT3RS wasn't one of them. All that aero shite may be "effective" but it's it's a bit too bloated pretend racecar for me.

996 GT3 parked nearby was so much neater.

Highlight wasn't the blisteringly red Diablo but a Mazda AZ1 looking like it would fit in the boot of the Camaro ZL1 nearby.

Ugliness of the Purple GT3 was nothing in comparison to the new Toyota Crown EV blobmobile which had the gall to not suffer spontaneous existence failure being within a hundred metres of a drop dead gorgeous Maserati Khamsin.

Not a bad way to start the day. 8-)

Too lazy to download and to old to work out wtf is going on with Imgur these days. I've now stuck them up on the Facebooks' Not the Evo forum.

Edit. Maybe, perhaps I can no longer work Facebook and should shun technology completely.

editit. yes I fail at Facebook too.

An absolutely stunning condition 205CTI towing a classic teardrop caravan. Old man driving with a big smile on his face and a Jack Russell on the passenger seat.

Living the dream.

Saw a purple Giulia QV this morning. Looked quite understated in a darker colour.

Durango SRT Hellcat on the M25. Can't imagine there's many of those on UK plates. It looked ridiculous and stupid. The proportions were all wrong with the flared arches and body kit much too wide for the shape. Wheels were too small and it looked like they were cambered too far out.

Much cooler was a metallic blue Vauxhall Ventora estate also on the M25.
