Labour are doing alright, less seats than LD but more than the greens. I just decided to focus on the greens because I’m biased and they’ve more than doubled the number of councillors they have so far.
The NI assembly election is the one to watch tbh, some forecasts are predicting a Sinn Fein win.

Still quite early in the count though. If we get to 5pm and it's broadly similar in terms of the results then that'll be interesting.

Is this not worrying? I can't help but think that SF gaining a majority in NI is going to lead to trouble kicking off again, what with the united Ireland desire.

I'm not sure that it would be a signifier of possible violence, would definitely highlight how angry people are about how Ireland and NI have been messed around through the brexit process though.

The greens were in second place where I live so was voting for them to unseat the Tory chap. Green candidate is a friend of my sister-in-law. No result yet for Trafford, but the Lib Dems were the only ones door ckocking here as well. I've spoken to them before now and they're an alright bunch. The Cons just shove leaflets through whilst on their phones. They take the place for granted as it's been blue for so long, but you'd think they might make a bit more fvcking effort given they lost control of the Council to Lab a few years ago now, and have been losing votes to the Lib Dems in most of the blue seats for a few years as well. It's not going to look great if this is a gradual slide to Graham Brady losing his seat at the next GE.

Is it a shift in population demographic with increase in republicans over there or are there protestants also switching sides? GIven that trouble seems to have never fully gone away from either side, if one or the other feels threatened you'd think that would just spark things off again.

So despite living in a part of London generally up in arms about LTNs, all the Labour councillors (being the only party in favour) were re-elected.
Expect the only mandated forms of transport to be Bus, bike and oxen by 2023. I even voted Lib Dem to try and make an impact tactically but to no avail. *bangs head on desk*

And the LD guy gained our ward from the Cons. With more of the vote than all others combined. LDs gained 2 seats in Trafford from the Cons and both in our village. Greens gained a seat as well.
