Re: what car thread - Lotus Edition
and presumably you added cars on with no new NcB of their own?
Re: what car thread - Lotus Edition
Henderson Taylor insured all of my Lotus cars, he was dirty cheap and included track day cover for free.
However....I think he sold the business so I'm not sure he was as cheap as before.
Alex on here then insured my Evora for far cheaper than online quotes, but no track cover if that matters to you.
I didn find that comparison sites weren't usually great, so used to go with recommendations from SELOC for the Lotus-friendly fringe companies.

Not need to be sorry, it was a lovely car. Not as good as to drive as my current one though. And if you mean the colour, orange looks good on Exiges (both S1 and S2), but not good on S1 Elises.Sundayjumper wrote: Thu Nov 07, 2024 1:24 pmI prefer that to your current one. I use Classicline, they're cheap plus 5 UK TDs included. A lot of Lotus people use them.
They don't use NCBs at least on my policy.

Re: what car thread - Lotus Edition
I still have a fond memory of our first trip to Scotland imbedded in my mind, when we were travelling down a reasonably fast road at a pace and I looked in the rearview mirror to see your Exige, looking like a mini Le Mans car chasing me down. With YK following in his ITR, you both had your lights on and it just looked like I was being chased down the Mulsanne straight, or somethingduncs500 wrote: Thu Nov 07, 2024 1:19 pm Here's a picture of my old one, just so you can see what a correct colour looks like (Chrome Orange).

Seeing the orange missile reminded me of your Scotland trip too - mainly ‘cos it was the only time I saw it. Special thing though.

Errr… probably ? I’ve honestly made so many changes over the years that I can’t remember all of them ! Run a quote on their website. Start there.Rich B wrote: Thu Nov 07, 2024 1:29 pmand presumably you added cars on with no new NcB of their own?

Re: what car thread - Lotus Edition
yeah, i’ve done some quotes with various ones - classic line don’t use ncb, so that’s useful!

I used them yonks back for the 944S2.Rich B wrote: Fri Nov 08, 2024 12:18 pm yeah, i’ve done some quotes with various ones - classic line don’t use ncb, so that’s useful!
Don’t use NCB and do agreed-value policies which avoids any negotiation if the worst happens. Only real downside for me was mileage restriction.
Re: what car thread - Lotus Edition
Also, worth noting that ClassicLine policies include full European breakdown cover too, which for me made it cheaper than elsewhere, if I had to buy breakdown cover separately.Rich B wrote: Fri Nov 08, 2024 12:18 pm yeah, i’ve done some quotes with various ones - classic line don’t use ncb, so that’s useful!
It used to include homestart too, but that's now an optional extra. And probably worth having with a Lotus

Well, i’ve provisionally bought a pimped up black T6.1 (needs slamming still, but that will follow) and sold the M2, so the next part is to find the perfect Lotus.Sundayjumper wrote: Wed Oct 16, 2024 8:43 amNah, it'll be a pimped out slammed T6 then he decides he doesn't need a Lotus after all and keeps the BMWMarv wrote: Wed Oct 16, 2024 8:30 am I'm waiting for this thread to go quiet, fall off the radar, then for Rich to put a reply on the Your fleet running reports thread that he's bought a Dacia Duster![]()

i’m still liking the idea of the S1, but the S2 Exige S is again leading my searches! i reckon this thread may go on for a while longer until i find the perfect one… sorry all!

Kind of passed me by that the trip was over 10 years ago now, time flies!mik wrote: Thu Nov 07, 2024 11:32 pm Seeing the orange missile reminded me of your Scotland trip too - mainly ‘cos it was the only time I saw it. Special thing though.![]()

The relatively small Exige did seem more suited to some of the smaller single track roads we were driving down, when compared to my M3. I could never seem to pull away from Duncs in his Exige either, so they're plenty quick enough for the road.

Earlier in the year when I was in Sweden I had an Orange Elise appear in my mirror, I had to double take that it wasn't an Exige with Duncs behind the wheel

Or..... get fed up going in circles looking for a Lotus, get fed up parking the T6 on a daily basis, sell it and buy an M3 TouringRich B wrote: Fri Nov 08, 2024 7:16 pm Well, i’ve provisionally bought a pimped up black T6.1 (needs slamming still, but that will follow) and sold the M2, so the next part is to find the perfect Lotus.

They’re too much money even if i did want to go that way! if they were £45k i’d probably have bought one by now!Sundayjumper wrote: Fri Nov 08, 2024 8:03 pmOr..... get fed up going in circles looking for a Lotus, get fed up parking the T6 on a daily basis, sell it and buy an M3 TouringRich B wrote: Fri Nov 08, 2024 7:16 pm Well, i’ve provisionally bought a pimped up black T6.1 (needs slamming still, but that will follow) and sold the M2, so the next part is to find the perfect Lotus.![]()

The 7 was the correct tool for those single track roads though!
