He probably remembers whose bum the headlight covers of the Coupe Fiat were based on too.

Weird seeing something as modern as a Coupe Fiat being an Italian car perv’s classic. There was a 20VT which lived almost opposite me 15 years ago as the modern car for a chap with an X1/9 and Fulvia Zagato sitting on the drive going green.

Classic car racing at Brands today had 458s, 997s and same vintage Vantage GT3s racing. But they’re still new I thought.
Then I do the maths and realise most of the teenagers spectating weren’t even born when those cars first began racing 😮

I was there yesterday too

Mad to think there was a long period of time where (just about) every F1 car was using the same (Ford DFV) engine

Shame about the crash in the second F1 race that took out two of the better cars (but happy it was relatively minor and everyone was OK)

Hope you had a good day?

Must have been some sort of Bentley day out yesterday near me, loads of old Bentleys and a fair few GT Coupes.

Also saw a lovely Opel Manta GTE.

I think the Jom Clark rally was on so possibly tied in with that.

The commentator said the DFV these days does 1000 miles between rebuilds and each rebuild costs £25,000. Quite dear! And probably the only bit of commentary I heard

Yes always an enjoyable day at Brands but I wish some of the classic grids were a bit more populated which would perhaps also make it more balanced.
Also any idea what engine was in the BMW Z4? That thing was ridiculously loud but sounded great. I want to say it’s a Judd V8.

F40 with the plate F40 ABV - recently sold on collecting cars.

Also a new GT3 RS with the plate REV 11T.

Both by Parliament Square.
I can’t possibly make up my mind if they’re cool or shit. I would have to camp outside Parliament for a few weeks, perhaps with the Palestinian gang, to see if they’re used for commuting into the city as daily drivers before I can pass judgement.

Edit - saw the F40 again. I’m in the back of an Uber and my phone is doing a Beany
