The problem is that people take the DM seriously, and these aren't ostensibly stupid people either.
Confirmation Bias is a hell of a drug.
If i achieve nothing else in the rest of my life, I can at least be proud of having weaned my parents off that hateful rag.
And you should be!

Interviewer: there's a pensioner who can't afford to heat her home so she travels on the bus to stay warm
Johnson: I introduced that free bus pass she's using for that! (... He didn't)
Ukraine: millions of refugees, including a worrying number forcibly moved to Russians Eastern seaboard, regular cruise missile strikes, fighting off an invasion from the people who donate to the Conservative party, regular, repeated, reliable reports of war crimes against civilians.
Johnson, doing a third rate Churchill impression: This is your finest hour.
I'd ask if he's trying to get himself sacked/beaten up in the street by anyone with an iq over 90, but yet you still see plenty of people defending him so clearly there's no point even bothering.

Remind me which day this week the local elections are?
His party are managing to reduce his majority gradually with all the by-elections for their misbehaviour. Death by a thousand cuts.

He considers himself untouchable so won't go unless absolutely compelled. But in view of the fact he's proven to have lied already, he could come to a far messier end by hanging on than just resigning sensibly.
Blair hung on for 4 years after the Iraq war; but it was that event which did for him. With the benefit of hindsight after he's left the role, will there be a similar event which was Boris's downfall? I suspect there will be, and I think it will be him taking on the role in the first place

Thing is, which of his many lies will do for him. Off the top of my head and PartyGate aside there's :
40 new hospitals
Cheaper energy bills
Pension triple lock
No tax rises
No border in the Irish Sea
Get Brexit Done

That's why I said it's simply taking on the job which was his downfall - it's impossible to isolate any of the broken promises as being the major factor. With someone like Boris it's often a stupid minor issue (like partygate) which takes him down as it's the straw that breaks the camel's back.

Let's be honest though, it isn't just Boris. They're all hopelessly out of touch.

Quite. Starmer now proven to have been lying extensively about their own partygate. Rayner at the porky pies as well about the same and also growler-gate. Everyone in cabinet, possibly bar Ben Wallace, appears to be a hopeless fvckwit - lead by example though I suppose.
Where are the Lib Dems? This is an open goal and yet the only press I've seen recently was about Ed Davey losing 2st in 7 weeks

- nothing in terms of attempting to fill the void created by the other two clown parties.

Good question Merv! I’ve not heard anything about LDs recently.. worried about their own partygate maybe?

Doesn't sell column inches like Conservative and Labour coverage though...

Really? Are you just consuming the Daily Mail and Torygraph? There wasn't a party, Starmer had a beer while working. Smacks of desperation, not helped by Dorries posting a picture from 2019
Not saying Starmer is my particular choice, but he's at least trustworthy unlike Boris and the rest of the cabinet. In fact, is there a single trustworthy Tory MP or peer currently?
