Shame he didn't keep the Esprit and he could have made it 2/3rds.

Although they're all from the same era, at the time the Countach and Testarossa were rivals, the 930 was often compared to all sorts of things, the Vantage Zagato was lumped with proper exotica like the 288GTO, the Esprit was even compared to a 205 GTI (in facelift guise) and the Pantera only ever appeared on its own. So I look forward to reading this one.

My level of desire for this is at the same level as my fear over how the diffuser and front bumper are such big pieces that would cost an absolute fortune to repair/ replace.

The weight was a shock, ivthoughtvitvwould easily slip under 1500 with fuel.

I need to watch the full video - have only caught the first few minutes. Sounds epic. I'm still not sold on the looks.... Lister did an awesome job in 1989 with the LeMans that looks more coherent to me.

The weight is not at all a surprise. I don't have a great desire for an XJ-S of any variety but I do think the old touring cars looked pretty good so it would be nice to see the Supercat being more like one of those visually (without livery mind).

The Lister cars' rear ends are a bit of a mess with the raised up rear lights. I did like the actual flying buttresses on the Supercat.

Nice of them to have a configurator but they don't offer the colour of Harry's demo car on it

Seems to go pretty well. I really don't like the wheels on the test car - those on the configurator look way better. Harry very nearly clips the front splitter at 13mins just transitioning from the gravel part of his drive to tarmac.

Gear lever looks a little too high, but I think it's been set there due to the height of the centre tunnel/arm rest. Whilst the shift action looks superb, it does appear to require a very elbow-high shift motion - which is exactly what I found uncomfortable in the manuel Supra (mk V) I test drove.

The reflection of the dash-top in the windscreen looks ridiculous on camera.

The engine sounds incredible, from idle timeline it's got a fantastic noise coming from it.

It's a little Manga looking I think ?

I saw a video from inside that very car at Goodwood and wondered why the dash had a piece of loose alcantara on top. Harry's video confirmed why it's required.

I hadn’t actually read anything about it previously, only looked at the pics and dismissed it as a styling exercise.

Then watching the Festival of Speed footage and was surprised at just how well it seemed to go and sound.

I’m not all that struck on the styling, some of it it rather excessive, but it’s not helped by the colour. It looked rather more subtle in the silver it was originally sold in. The front is a bit ‘Mr Plough’ and needs a sacrificial plastic lip.

I didn’t think 1700kg was too bad at all, they’re not exactly small cars and it has a supercharged v12 stuck in the nose!

I’d like one mechanically the same but with a kit inspired by the Broadspeed XJC.

I think bubble arches and tyres with a bit of meat on them would look better.

Harry's Countach latest really shows off the shoddy build quality to go with the spectacular style.

Cool anecdote that Horacio may have personally laid up the engine cover for Harry's car.

That was a good video. The reality of owning a supercar like that is yes, it'll go up in value but you still need to cover the running costs. If Harry sold it for £1m after this work, would be actually have covered the costs of running it for 16 years?

Wonder if Harry tried double declutching to stop the horrible crunching noise? Didn't seem to just be 2nd gear as the vid went further on. Interesting that it had recently been on the evo test, then the gearbox problem starts. Driven harder than a (perhaps fragile) 70s car should be? That part of the conversation with Iain Tyrell seemed a little awkward

Gearbox was worked on last year non?

He had the gearbox fully rebuilt by Iain Tyrrell last year. It could have been caused by someone on the Evo test,, it could have been Harry himself who caused it, or it could have been something wrong with the rebuild - though it did seem fine for a year afterwards so that seems less likely. Having said that, I remember with the Espada he kept going back to Tyrrell because the engine parts supplied by Lamborghini weren't up to spec but that wasn't apparent until he drove it properly. Maybe the same here and the Evo test has just revealed the deficiencies?

Red roof doesn't work for me (and I have no interest in a soft top version)

It's a chunky monkey, but seems to cover ground at enormous speed with little drama (ring time is crazy). And given that it's not pitched as the most tactile offering - I can see the appeal of that.

I've always thought that a digital speedo makes an analogue speed display redundant, but the refresh rate doesn't seem to be high enough to cope with it's rondinculous acceleration.

A GT3 appeals more to me as a road car.
