Hardtops I find work less on converables that the roof folds flat (MX5, S2k for example) but fine on cars that have more targa-style roof like the Elise.

What kind of a (dual-purpose) previous life do you think this has lived?

"Cheap" but these cars wear the mileage well. Clutch pack would be a consideration if not done, and suspension overhaul might be needed, but for £25k these cars are brilliant if you want every drive to be an event....

I think I'd like to own a 4C one day (because Alfa and carbon tub) but if it ever turned into a serious consideration I think I'd have to pick a manual Lotus. Was there a kit that fixed the iffy handling?

I find the front number plate positioning incredibly painful to look at.

Alfaworks have a geometry kit - I had it on mine - but it extends far past that, its not even close to being as good as an Elise/Exige.

There was a very interesting article about how Alfa royally fucked it all up, and how the "tricky" handling was a last ditch attempt to make it work after the weight of the car far exceeded initial plan.

A few people have had PAS fitted which allows for better geometry (apparently?) and drastically improves things.....but it's about £5k fitted.

Footage is scarce - this vid is quite old so it was running road tyres and 800-900bhp, as opposed to slicks and >1000bhp.

Having seen it in full flow - it is indeed like someone has pressed a "fast forward" button on reality. :?

And @scotta alerted me today to the fact that - due to "a new project" - it's now for sale.

I was going to say it's a non-crazy price, but not being UK registered is a slight worry if the dealer won't do it, but then reading the comments they're pitching it more to the US under the 25-year import rule. Although tariffs & a weakening dollar is not going to help there !
