"fucking tree in the road yeah?"

People are realising that despite all the calls to stop racism and everyone telling them racism is abhorrent- that there is no consequences to their actions and can get away with pretty much anything on social media- worst case is they get their account banned so they start up a new one and continue to abuse the same person or move onto someone newSwervin_Mervin wrote: ↑Mon Jul 12, 2021 11:00 pm Yeah I saw that. I'd like to say I was staggered but sadly I'm not. WTF is going on?
But what's the motivation of the SM companies to not be seen to be dealing with this sort of bullshit? Especially when the likes of @mik is banned for sarcastically hoping someone bangs their knee on a drinks trolley ffs. Or @Beany for calling someone a cunt.*jamcg wrote: ↑Tue Jul 13, 2021 7:27 amPeople are realising that despite all the calls to stop racism and everyone telling them racism is abhorrent- that there is no consequences to their actions and can get away with pretty much anything on social media- worst case is they get their account banned so they start up a new one and continue to abuse the same person or move onto someone newSwervin_Mervin wrote: ↑Mon Jul 12, 2021 11:00 pm Yeah I saw that. Because for everyone saying "maybe we should be doing something about all the racism and abuse on social media" you have some numbskull saying that free speech should be absolute. Ultimately both are seen as equally as important for the company because all they care about is engagement so they can harvest data to sell. They're amoral.Swervin_Mervin wrote: ↑Tue Jul 13, 2021 10:14 amBut what's the motivation of the SM companies to not be seen to be dealing with this sort of bullshit?
