Not really a "decent car youtube", but a massive crash at Paul Ricard. Driver completely uninjured.

Monkey gets to drift the new M5, basically just for shits and giggles as he knows how it will go.

Is he a paid BMW shill now? That was the most contradictory review ever. It's comfortable on the road, but rolls on track because its heavy. It's not that comfortable on the road but good in high speed. The weight isn't a problem, it's too big. Ok it's heavy but doesn't feel that heavy. UNDERSTEER! Shite interior. And finally, it's too big and heavy on a track but who uses a M5 for this?
To which I ask, if you want a 5 series to just waft about in, why would you even bother with the M5? Just buy a 550e.

But then how will you prove to your chartered account neighbours that you, an architect, are better than them?

Buy a classic SAAB, obviously.

This is good.
Camera car has to deal with some rather sketchy positioning from his competitors around 14m30

This restoration is taking quite some time, but always worth watching for the fabulous stop-motion sections. From the very start of this particular vid.

Cheers for this Mik.
Spoke to a chap racing at Shelsley today who prepped the RX7 in this race. He had a very amusing sleeper Golf CL with a 2.0 16v in it
That is utterly bonkers, it sounds like a jet engine and the cornering footage looks sped up

It looks like an actual cartoon car around hammerhead - it completely bends the laws of physics. Insane.

Active ground effect is such a huge advantage and so niche for Motorsport having been banned widely for decades I do wonder whether even a modern F1 car would be quicker.
The in cockpit view is nowhere near as cool as I should be, those A pillars give a distinctly old school 4:3 ratio out the front.

Dario's garage on TLBS:
Quite enjoyed that, although Dario appears pretty uncomfortable at the start of the vid
Imagine owning an F40 at 25
Interesting opinion on the CGT as it's similar to mine (although I never hated them - but they weren't desirable to me when launched).
That shooting brake RR misses the "mad, but cool" mark for me, but it's not my car. And please stop mentioning Joe. Joe Macari.
