I was in Matlock Bath last week - no KTMs of any note though.
Sounds rubbish.
definitely, I didn’t bother stopping. As I always say - no KTM, no stopping.
If there
was a KTM, and you spotted it, you'd
have to stop anyway. To confirm whether you thought it did or did not look awesome. Rules.

Oh and a little update on my part - theory test booked for next week.
If I pass, I'll book up the intensive course for a full license.
Theory test passed.
48/50 on the multiple choice. (43 to pass)
58/75 on the hazard perception (44 to pass)
When I was taking the test, I felt I did shit in the multiple choice and really good in the hazard perception
Going to phone up the riding school in the next few days and see if they can fit me in on their intensive course some time next month.

Well done Marv.
Off to Montenegro next week and looking at the roads wish it was a tour on a bike.

It’s about 2 hours on the more interesting roads.

True - have to go at 95 instead of 115 these days

A52 / 523 etc are still good roads in the early hours of the morning.

In fact I managed a fantastic drive on there one weekday afternoon a few years back, in the K20 Elise. No front plate helps with the average speed stuff and brain removed helps with despatching lines of dawdlers.

I even enjoyed pedalling the 320d around the roads up there this year (family in Youlgrave near Bakewell so go up every year). There’s a fair few cameras about, but most seem fairly sensibly placed in areas where you shouldn’t really be gunning it anyway.

3.5 from here. Might be a good place for a OV9 Motorbikerist meet though? We really should pull our fingers out and do it this year.

Doesn't sound a bad idea. Broccers is relatively close to there too.

The desire to ride a bike hasn't gone away and I keep coming back to it, wife is now less objectionable to it than she previously was and I think it is going to happen. Nervous at the idea of failing though, TBH. Sounds daft and also a little lazy but part of me wonders whether I can dedicate the time to do it properly. So silly question time perhaps - with regards to the theory, is it mostly common sense? The CBT wasn't too taxing IIRC, but there was nobody appraising to the same degree if that makes sense.
