It looks awesome in that colour, I saw a white touring at the weekend and the blue looks so much better, especially the grill.
The grille definitely gets hidden a bit by the darker colour. I think I'll cut the front number plate holder down a bit as well as the full size UK plate just seems to draw attention to it.
It looks like they have already screwed the hold into the grille, I needed to have mine filled and blended by a paintshop.

Yeah, they come from the factory with that already on unfortunately. I'm wondering if I can just remove it, cut it down to size and reattach.

Peter Vardy.

Always used to be an Eastern customer but they messed me around when I was trying to buy an M2 last year.
I found they (Peter Vardy) were bellends when I went to look at an X5.
I've only dealt with one guy there and he's been brilliant. I did have that moment of thinking maybe I should talk to someone else at Eastern but didn't want to be "that guy" who went and basically told tales on a salesman as the only other person I knew was the head honcho.
The guy i dealt with gave me a piss take trade offer on the 3 series then inflated the figures with all their insurance, Gap insurance, paint protection, service plans...ect. I had gone in at lunchtime to look at it so didnt have time to argue with them. I left by telling them to get me a better trade-in price and remove all the bloat from the quote then come back to me. They didn't. I then bought the car ive got from Harry Fairbairn. It was newer, had 10k less miles on it, LOADS more kit and was cheaper by £2k on the sticker price. They also offered £2k more for the 3 series.

They phoned me back 4 days later "Any further thoughts on that car?" "You were supposed to come back to me with a better package minus all the bloat. You didn't so I've bought elsewhere."

Yeah, someone must have done it given how long the saloon and coupe have been out now.

That's pretty shitty service then!

I was trading the C4S for an M2, so asked to come and drive one and I was happy to put a holding deposit on it assuming it wasn't a total dog. They had two of similar specs and I would have been happy with either - they knew I was just looking for an M2 or m-anything as they had a deposit from me for a Touring. Next call was to say the cars had both been sold while I'd been waiting for time to come in and drive one. They also then said they couldn't get a trader buyer for the C4S so I'd have to sort that myself.

Fair enough, so I then just asked what other M cars they had in - I was just looking for something I could run for 12-18 months until the Touring arrived. Wasn't too fussed about model, age etc, but just let me know, I'll come in and drive them and take one of them. I think 72 hours passed at which point I decided to pop down to Peter Vardy - they gave me the keys to an M2, I drove it, came back and said I'd take it.

I called the guy at Eastern back the following week and cancelled my Touring deposit. Didn't ask why or even about the calls and emails about me wanting to buy something else. All very weird.

I looked at a 760 at Sytner Coventry about 6 months ago, when they realised that I wasn't interested in gap insurance, tyre insurance, paint protection and had my own finance (JBR were 4.9% compared to 11.9%) they decided to revise the part ex offer by £2k which I think is illegal. It took them another 3 months to sell the car and they dropped it £6k so lost out by being greedy on commission.

GF is currently looking to swap cars so it would be handy to know if it is illegal. We went to Mercedes last weekend and they gave her all the flannel about finance but she’ll likely use the full trade in price on hers and bank loan the rest at a better rate.

I’m pretty sure it is against the law to incentivise a customer into a higher Apr finance product.

I can see them on the phone, but not my laptop.

You can quote his post and copy the photo urls into a browser / then they are visible.
Did we ever get to the bottom of what was causing that for some people on some posts?
My guess is that the site is on https, and you're posting http (unsecure) links to images and the browser is blocking them because it's not secure. Try an https image service (not that one though as the https cert on it isn't valid).
Just to confirm, if looked in dev tools and Chrome is trying to fetch the image using https, which is failing as it's not a valid cert, so the image isn't loading. Obviously firefox etc don't care.

Interesting. Not very keen on those 50-year badges though, and £100k is strong money in anyone's book (particularly Mike's I suspect).

That green really is awful - it does no favours to any of the design. I still don't like the front, but I'd be happy with it in a better colour.

Saw an M3 saloon in the lime green with the big M colour decals on the side yesterday. Truely awful looking thing. I don’t know what they’re doing with all the hideous combinations on the standard colour charts.

Sure, let people pay the extra for an individual order if they really must…

One of my neighbours has a green saloon M3 - it's fine from the back, but the front looks crap. It's a shame when you see that Alpina and how nice the front end looks on it.

Weirdly, I don't mind the front of the M4

Those 50yr badges are fucking terrible. Doubtless in 10+ years' time, everyone will want them. Since they're in the same recess as the normal badges, the BMW propeller badge itself looks too small but then the standard propeller badge on the 3-series Touring looks a bit big now I've started to compare them

I enjoyed Harry's video. Shame he didn't drive the B3 on the road and share his feelings there; he did mention torque steer which is something I hate with a passion so that would immediately sway me to the M3 over the B3 anyway. B3 on more sensibly-sized alloys could be tempting though. I'd also be interested to know how the lower power but higher torque makes it feel to drive in comparison.

Oh is that what they are. Saw a M440i with the new badge and wondered whether it was original or aftermarket.

I've got a set of both coming to see which I like - opinion is split. I think the 50th ones look good on a darker colour car.

The base car which is very highly specced is/was 80K on the road, so you don't need to go mad on the options list. From sitting in an M4, everything seems like it's almost the new M5 in terms of size & performance and they've definitely taken the interior quality up a notch. Is it worth 80K? I'm sure values won't hold, but I've no intention of selling, so depreciation will be whatever it is. There's also a vast amount of tech and sensors on these things now - I guess that accounts for some of the price increases we're seeing across cars

I’m seeing these badges on quite a few 330e and 520i Ubers already which is reason enough not to want them. I’m guessing they’re not buying the genuine items and going for the eBay special
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/37449590122 ... z7AwAAAAAA
I guess it’s less cringe than slapping a M badge on.
