Apparently the 599 was sold in manual form for EU/USA but almost no one ordered it. Surprised it has a bunch of aftermarket stuff and mapping - surely you could go down the OEM route and avoid the risk of unknown parts, R&D etc?

What's going on here - why is the same car 30k less on AT than through their own website? Are they just taking people for mugs? What am I missing.
Someone forgot to update the website? Probably just a mistake.

There's a lot to like with this one, except:
1) wheels are too big
2) the stereo integration could be nicer
3) it doesn't need an AMG engine, a lesser V8 would be fine. It isn't a racer.

What really matters is what the price in the windscreen says:
Idly scrolling autotrader, thinking of a Cayman S. This one is near to me and well loaded with all the tricks you would want (mmm lobster claw alloys) BUT in the interests of a good backdrop the seller has done his photoshoot in front of... the American war memorial and cemetery. Which kind of puts me off...
Not sure I want to buy a car from someone like that, nor if it is a good idea.

If I didn't currently want a car with a silly engine, this would be in the garage already Gold FTW:

Chavvy rear lights, S badge, steering wheel and a wonky exhaust. I'm out
Your also nudging DFi 2.9 Cayman money which would be a safer buy, similar performance and half the ved.

Well...
Sport Chrono is not factory as there is no clock. The sport button on the dash has been added as an aftermarket software update.
The ad says Bose but they've strategically cut off the corner of the speakers which have the badging (and omitted a backward shot between the seats which would show the subwoofer port) and the Bose system I do not believe is easily compatible with aftermarket head units so I would expect this may not actually have Bose.
The wonky exhaust may also indicate that the engine mounts are knackered (common reason they start to dip). I was told by a mechanic that it couldn't be gone on mine as it has only done 40k despite me hearing the clink of the metal on metal over speedbumps... predictably when it was pulled out it the rubber was torn 3/4 of the way around.
Plus the 3.4s bore score so at that age with an owner that it not averse to modding, etc. it is possible getting close to being a liability at this stage.

Sounds like my cemetery induced ick was the right call then...

It is a reference to a car someone had on here many moons ago, a crusty gold 7 series they took to Le Mans. They used the same description of the colour. I considered it a pretty lightweight play on BRG, but can see why it might be offensive and would be happy to delete it. FWIW, Jason Camissa was using it five years ago

I'm still casually looking at Caterhams as a future purchase. I'm not after bonkers power as it will be a road car so would prefer something I can rev out through the gears occasionally and not be doing licence losing speeds in a few seconds. I'm also looking at newer models so this brings me to the 1.6 Ford Sigma engine which has a maximum power of 152bhp
This one is nice, hardly used and I like metallic white cars. It's just had the price dropped by 2k too

It goes back way further than that - I'd heard it numerous times over the years, but less so recently. Search for it (or JRG) on your engine of choice and there are numerous references. I never considered it to be a play on British Racing Green, but I suppose that's obvious when you think of it.
I'm in no place to determine if it's considered offensive, of course.
