I did think he might have gone for the DBX given the price of some of those now - much nicer from the outside but the interior also looks a bit bland.

I have the agree, a 3.0 diesel Range Rover is all the performance any one needs.

More power is betterer.

While I generally agree with this, I'd suggest in a vehicle like this, more torque is more bettererer.

I suspect that if Harry wasn't a Maserati fanboi, he wouldn't have touched it with a bargepole. There's a LOT of compromises to get that brand.

I’d take reasonable torque and a great noise when you mash it over a mountain of torque and something which sounds like a tractor every time. Even if it’s slower “in the real world” and drinks a lot more juice.

Disappointing developments at HG. Sells the interesting manual V12s, buys an abomination.

Interestingly there is a mere 10nm in it between the Trofeo and my 4.4 SDV8 - I then thought to myself, OK but it'll be at 4500 RPM but again, its 2500rpm in the Maserati and 1700rpm in the Range Rover so hardly night and day. I expect it would perform well as a relaxing cruiser on that basis.

Still doesn't ultimately address the fact that its only got 2/3 the boot and much less rear legroom. The V6 and V8 Land Rover units both sound nice IMO though (and I say that as someone that would never by a 4cyl diesel because of the noise).

I went into the Maserati garage a couple of weeks ago and sat in four of their cars… Bizarrely they have a 530 hp V8 Grecale Trofeo and a 550 hp electric Grecale Folgore, yes both are the same model name.. 🤯 There was a big SUV that’s been discontinued, Might have been that Lavante and it just reminded me of every Chrysler I’ve ever sat in with awful squeaky buttons, an unpleasant steering wheel and cheap plastic everywhere.. think it was £150k

I don't think that sounds bad value for a warranty on a Maserati which was £140k new. I wonder how much use Harry will have to make of it, and how painful it will be.
Can extend official snooter-to-tooter warranty with Maserati upto 5 years for less, so he could get 2 years with them instead. Past that it's only drivetrain upto 10 years, though.

As @Mito Man said, it's a big advert for Warrantywise, so suspect he's paid a fraction of that.

He claimed in the vid that he's just a regular customer, so no special treatment etc...

I’m just a regular sponsored customer, no special treatment over other sponsored customers… 😂

GG, I think even the 1700rpm v 2500rpm torque peak difference would feel quite noticeable. I rarely exceed 2000rpm in my S6 in normal use.

Great roundup as always 8-) Respect Harry's transparency.

I don't always agree with his choices / decisions (stoopid talk like stoopidly putting the stoopid wing back on the 'tach etc), but he always explains his rationale and you can imagine that if you were down the pub having a pint with him whilst he explained it all, you'd be nodding away with a "fair enough - yeah".

Spheres and geo on the Macca sound like good choices. As Chris says - plans for Project7 are very interesting, but I'm sure

would be a popular mod if it was possible.... which makes me think that if it was easily done, someone would have done so already? :? Maybe it'll be a new moneyspinner for them?

As it already has a manual in one shape I'd say it would be pretty easy to do comparatively speaking.

Aslong as the engine or centre console haven't been moved in the 7 I'd say it may even be a bit of a parts bin job. Will be interesting to see the process anyway.

Dave!

As most of them are probably just locked up and never to be driven as museum pieces, I can't see there's much of a demand for it TBH!

This. I would have absolutely zero desire in manuale swapping the Alpine.

Sorry - wasn't clear - I was thinking beyond the Project7 to other V8 F-types.

There is one manual F-Type (a Cat N V6S from 2017) out of 460 or so F-Types on Auto Trader. So while they may have in theory been available from new I bet finding parts to convert one is going to be a struggle. At least that was a V6 so you'd imagine it would fit the V8 which shares basically the same block. Also, he barely uses the P7 and it'll lose originality; seems a silly thing to do. Especially via Callum who will doubtless charge through the nose.

Not sure about the 675LT settings on the 650S either. Feels like he was in some way unsatisfied with the 650S despite eulogising about it in every video so far.

And it's taking him far too long to fix the Project 8 supension. That, to me, is probably the single most desirable car in his garage. It's the one I'd grab the keys to first if they were all offered.
