If this is as clean as it looks it would be a nice little oddball for a vag lover

The proper oddball is the Felicia Fun version which has a sliding rear body section to expand it to 4 seats using the front of the load bed. Haven’t seen one of those for many years but Sorley Tunnel in Devon had a couple at least.

Used to see one regularly round here but don't recall seeing it recently.

Only just over 600 made so I can't imagine there are too many left.

MOT history says it was on 160k in 2014. After that the odometer display stopped working and there's no mileage recorded for the remaining MOTs until it failed in 2018 and was taken off the road, even though it wasn't really too much of a fail at that point.

I had an E38 735i back in 2008-ish that was on well over 200k and it was in much better condition. Rust like that is more about time than mileage.

Makes me feel a bit sad seeing the state of this. It's totally my spec and I would have loved something like that ~15 years ago, before it went so downhill. It's probably destined for scrap now.

That's lovely, although a high mileage, modified Alfa is a bit like getting interest from a hot but reputedly crazy girl. It's incredibly tempting and easy to think "it can't be that bad?"

I mean, if it passed an mot and isn’t too rusty you can’t go wrong for 2 grand.

TBH coilovers and brakes wouldn't concern me as a modification, they were parts that were going to need replacing anyway. It's not like its had a massive turbo and crazy induction kit fitted.

I had a 156SW for a few months (with the 2.0TS) and it was a nice enough car. Very much of the era, but liked it well enough. A diesel Alfa is something of a crime, but the 2.4 is well regarded.

2.4 sounds pretty good from inside the car, with a quattroesque warble and decent bit of turbo boost feeling.

Standard diesel clatter from outside the car at idle though.

Because it matches my wife’s convertible one and I don’t have enough broken cars here already 🤣
