I like it
I didn't realise they had up to 590hp, looks understated aswell.
Makes the RR Sport look pretty fat and tubby.

Now he'll just be paying the mechanics crazy amounts a month - it's a fucking Maser Levante
Aren't they, like,
famously unreliable, even by "Italian car" standards? Even by modern
Maserati standards, which aren't exactly high to begin with?
I’m not sure if the V8 is also terrible, seems like all the horror stories are from the V6?

As I understand it, the V8 is relatively solid (by Maserati standards - mostly because it's not their engine, it's assembled by Ferrari), it's electrics, air suspension, general build quality etc that are the problems, in the traditional Maserati manner.
So the engine might be "fine", but if the loom is fucked because a bit of trim has chafed through a CANBUS wire and it won't let you start the car, that the engine is mechanically sound is kinda besides the point.

is the “I.C.E. setting for wet roads” not just, you know - ice setting?

He’s probably owned more Maseratis than the entire forum put together. I’m sure he knows what he’s doing. Most jlr products are supposed to be unreliable nightmares.

The Maserati I.C.E. (Increased Control & Efficiency) button activates a special driving mode for low-grip conditions like rain, ice, or slush, making the car gentler by starting in second gear, shifting earlier at lower RPMs, and reducing throttle/turbo response for better traction and fuel economy.
lesson learned!

LOL, my Dad had a similar button on his '90 Cavalier automatic...

He’s bought that 50% as somewhere to put his M4SER plate and 50% for the engine. The rest is surely going to annoy him - the touch screen looked laggy in his video, the leather on the seats is the only nice part of the interior and fuel economy is going to be tragic. Wonder if you can get a tow bar for it too?

I really like the look of it, was surprised by how much it cost (in a good way) although I guess the devil could be in the details - i.e. running costs.
The only thing that bothered me way too much is the model designation on the front wings which I think looks absolutely awful.
I did also wonder if the touchscreen looked laggy @Jobbo although at least it has CarPlay.

What bothers me is that it's a modern Stellantis product. Having watched M539 on Youtube fixing his Quattroporte it feels like any semblance of quality is skin deep. Maybe not true of the engine in the Trofeo - I don't know, though with the tiny number of them in this country innate problems would not be that apparent yet.

I see a few Maseratis around me because there’s a dealer on the high street, but i can see why most are black, because when you can see the details (particularly the rear qtr) they are pretty ugly! The interior looks shit too.
The engine does seem to do the job though.

Oh, the rear and rear quarter. WTH?
The interior is an interesting one, with some of these cars like Maserati and Aston, they clearly don't want to go overboard with carbon fibre and shiny stuff to the point where it looks tasteless, but in an attempt to stay tasteful & classy, they end up looking very dull and dated.
I've clearly blanked out a lot of my negative thoughts as I do like the engine.

Plus points for not buying the norm, plus V8 Ferrari engine in an SUV. I'm also down with the understated looks.
However, that interior looks incredibly dated. I'm against all the modern chintzy interiors Merc and BMW are doing, bilut it's got that early 2000 look about it.
Oh, and £3k a year for a non-dealer warranty sounds expensive to me. I know they have a penchant for being expensive cars, but if it's that for third party, how much is the main dealer warranty!?

I don't think that sounds bad value for a warranty on a Maserati which was £140k new. I wonder how much use Harry will have to make of it, and how painful it will be.

id not looked at a DBX interior before, it’s not massively better than the Levante tbh, but the outside of the DBX is nearly pretty enough to forgive it!
i saw an F1 turquoise/green DBX on the same high street last week with driver in the F1 team shirt. Either someone important or someone rich and desperate to get noticed!

The warranty company sponsor the video and the owner is mates with Harry. For the average punter who isn't sponsored or a close friend you'd get better value throwing £3k cash on a fire. At least it'll keep you warm for 5 minutes.

Harry with some of his recent opinions and choices just makes me think he's a bit of a cunt these days tbh.

Finally watched this (as it wasn’t exciting me much). Didn’t know anything about the V8 version but suspected they’d repeated their flat-plane to cross-plane for Maserati trick. And they had. Which pleased me.
Seems nice enough for a large comfy daily.
I can’t remember if Harry was still being loaned JLR products, or if he owned the RRS this replaces?

He mentioned it quite a few times in the video you CLAIM to have watched that the RRS is leased…

At the point the Range Rover insurance issue was at its peak I considered these an alternative... for about 5 minutes.
I think I was only looking at the V6 versions as that would have been a similar price to what I'd have got selling the FFRR but ultimately they're small, won't be as comfortable and not very good as an SUV (don't think you can get a tow bar for it - or at least none I browsed had it fitted.)
The V8 is a cool engine but again I don't get the sporty SUV thing and mpg in the teens doesn't appeal.
