"Imported from Japan a few months ago but unfortunately suffered an engine failure and now requires a new engine"

"Rare opportunity to get a V8 Disco 4 for half the usual price"

I mean if it's got a fucked engine, it's not exactly a V8 Disco 4 is it? It's just a fucked Disco 4 that needs several grand chucking at it, and that's assuming the rest of it is mint, which it won't be.

Maybe but Land Rover folk are weird and jap import V8s are the pinnacle of disco perfection. A good one really is £20k. Simply because the cranks don’t break on a regular basis.

Just an intermittent basis....? ;)

Imagine being the poor sod who imported a Land Rover from Japan, because it's got the more reliable engine, and then it blows anyway

I would have liked one instead of our X5, but they are not worth double the price for a similar age/mileage. The 5.0V8 is a great engine, and for London dwellers, ULEZ compliant. I'm impressed that someone killed it at less than 50k - incompetently driving through a flood?
Why is a salvage company not putting a used engine in and selling for a decent profit?

Not really. Just once is normally enough :-)

It’s new technology, CVT (constantly variable timing) between cylinders.

Oohhh, white 4x4, nice 8-)

Honestly I'd love to open a car dealership just because I know I could take better photos of cars than 99% of dealers. When it comes to cars, good photos = more sales

They'll be making a decent enough profit on it anyway.

Some winter tyres and wheels would certainly - unfortunately mine are centrelocks so would need to find another set of GTS wheels and tyres (which will end up being much more expensive :( )
