Re: Today’s want
They have an awful image but I think they’re a nice modern interpretation of the original Range Rover ( I know they’re not actually modern any more)
Cheers, Harry
Re: Today’s want
This seems relatively sensibly priced at £60k. And I'd love it, despite it not having a 5-pot engine. I think 542bhp would make up for that.

Re: Today’s want
I'm not entirely opposed to the concept, but it seems weird that following a 5-pot to V6 conversion, neither site shows an image of the engine bay?Jobbo wrote: Thu Oct 09, 2025 9:19 am This seems relatively sensibly priced at £60k. (Also weird that SPR believe it is both a 1983 Audi and a 1971 Mk1 Ford Escort RS 1600. New proofreader required).
edit: looks like some engine bay pics on this previous auction HERE. It looks pretty far forward, but I'm not sure you can really avoid that when the suspension turrets on the UrQuatty are so far back

Re: Today’s want
I think if I was gonna have a fake swb Quattro I’d get Retropower to do the bodywork.
An absolute unit

Re: Today’s want
Absolutely would not want a classic Quattro without the 5pot. That engine / noise is 90% of the want for one.
Probably handle loads better with an engine that’s not hanging a couple of feet ahead of the front wheels though!

That's been built to be used though; if I wanted a pristine Ur-Quattro to keep clean in the garage then I'd obviously want an original. This looks amazing and will be quick.
It's not a swb, Zed - it's basically an A1 Quattro rally build before the Sport was introduced but with a later engine.
[Edit] I realise googling A1 Quattro will bring up the limited run hot supermini from 201/12 but I'm referring to the early rally builds like this: https://cars.bonhams.com/auction/22718/ ... zda900012/
