If you think it looks good, it’s a good looking bike, I guess?
Yes and no.
I mean, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, always. Yet people are paid loads of money to design stuff so that it looks good. They don't get employed and paid if they say "well in my opinion it looks geeat so fuck off".
There are accepted aesthetic conventions, which are in a constant state of change due to this weird notion of fashion. Yet there are also design principles that underpin aestehtic understanding which remain constant.
So sure, if you like it, you think it's good looking. But widely accepted as good looking? That's a different thing.

Chris Bangle called and said you're full of shit

That kinda backs up what I'm saying. Remember when Bangle's BMWs first came out? Gopping. Look at those same cars now and we accept the design language as our understanding of the design has evolved. Plus all along his stuff was underpinned by solid design principles.

Yep, I thought the E60 was a mess when it first came out, it didn’t take long to change my mind and I think it’s aged really well.

It was the first Bangle 7-series that did it for me.
Hated it.
Hated it.
Hated it.
Hated it.
Kept on looking at them.....
Ended up loving it.

Bangle's work was the epitome of "it looks great to me, so fuck off!" It set new aesthetic conventions.

My old work used to share a car park with the fat duck in bray, Heston Blumenthal had one of the very early blue M5s. I was parked opposite it sat in my car on a phone call for 15 minutes staring at it, by the end of the call I really liked E60s.

I think he's a genius. The previous 7-series was the definition of dull.
I also liked the Fiat Coupe but that's a whole new thread

Of course! Wouldn't you?
