More seriously, how does someone get to own a cayman, and go to a trackday yet have absolutely no idea what they are doing? You’d think they’d have at least a tiny bit of interest and knowledge of spirited driving 🤪
Had to take some brave pills to watch beyond 1 minute of that. From the commentary at the end, which I skipped to, it looks like the passenger with his name on his helmet was a mate, not an instructor, which may explain why he wasn't telling him after the first turn to take his hand off the gear lever, stop changing down all the time, hold the wheel properly and stop rocking about like a fucking loon.

It’s like he had some sort of inner drum and bass sound track going on in his head the way he was rocking back and forth! 😂
Glad he stopped that gear knob from flying off, it’s always a major concern when driving - hold it in place at all times!

As soon as he understeered off and DIDN’T PUT BOTH FUCKING HANDS ON THE STEERING WHEEL I had to turn it off

Yeah - in their other videos (yes - I couldn't help myself) white helmet drives the car too. He is marginally less utterly dreadful.

OMP helmet is sitting way too far from the wheel - Limp Bizkit stylee - clearer to see in the video of him driving solo (see below). He is rocking back and forward as he can't hold the wheel and sit back in the fucking seat. I was similarly rocking back and forward - in a dark room - for about 3hrs after viewing these files.

Erm - tyres are ze same dude. If you are doing 100mph then the surface of your tyre is doing 0mph at the bottom, and 200mph at the top.....
Proof! Tyres and tank tracks are the same, Mik confirmed it.

I didn't want to re-watch it too many times to check, but did he money shift it into 2nd not 4th?

He did - which I believe was planned - but he was doing around 6krpm in 3rd at the time - the rev counter can’t move quick enough to display how many revs he actually put on it when he slammed it down, but we do know it was at least “too many”.

edit: in the solo-driving vid above, you get to see his cool-down lap routine. Which you'll be amazed to see - involves driving exactly the same, before coming into the pits (brute-forcing the synchros to select first), rolling 150m to his garage, pulling on the handbrake and getting out).

You've reminded of a vid I thought I'd posted a week or two back  I'll try and find it again.

If they mentioned it - I missed it - I assume the Cup is on full slicks. Interesting though.

I wasn't going to make it that far so thank you - it's almost like an instructional video for what not to do.

Remember: not every car owned by that moron and his ilk will have had such a nasty aftermarket steering wheel installed. Car Vertical will not tell you what track days your purchase has been used on. If anyone ever has any doubts about a purchase, just think of it being ragged round a track by this gimp and walk away.

I assumed both cars were on their standard tyres, couldn't find anything in the description or comments clarifying.

Nice one, fair and reasonable assessment and with no Chris BS who can't drive in a straight line.

If doable - maybe tyre reviews would be fortunate - it'd be interesting to see the tyres swapped car to car to see the difference it makes to both.

The Manthey vid was linked from your 5th Gear vid :)

Really not particularly complicated. I’m sure the pistons are generally moving at a higher speed than the car too.

Understanding rotation isn’t exactly rocket science. Might be a bit of a stretch for Broccers, I accept.

I've watched it all - that half hour went by quickly :o :D
The only problem I had was being distracted by a phrase he used and how he said it;
