Those slow-moving air brake elements don't look like they add much more than visual drama

First variable geometry turbos on a petrol engine, that tech now superseded by the E-tubs.Jobbo wrote: Mon Feb 24, 2025 8:57 am I really don't think electricity is the issue here. It's the fact that Porsche haven't really used it the right way (to improve efficiency overall) and it's not obvious why.
But I agreed sticking the fanciest of new tech on the 3.6 GTS is odd. They could have put it on a lower capacity engine and delivered great performance with better economy or a bigger engine/high boost model for headline performance.
Maybe just a public beta for the E-tubs before sticking it on that horrible four cylinder donk.
1700kg too Porsche have finally caught up to the R35 GTR!![]()

IIrc it was to do with legislation (might be Euro 7, might be proposed, I can't remember) that was something like not running rich, using the electric motors to get the engine out of those scenarios. Lambda 1? It feels like it was last gen ago when I saw about it, was there a concept/show car that previewed it?![]()
Excellent video with excellent insights.
Totally agree on the pricing. Its the engine out of my 128 in the same tune...at twice the price. In my head the morgan should be a £40-50k car not an £80k one with options (Ive been on the configurator)Jobbo wrote: Tue Mar 11, 2025 8:25 am The Morgan one was a bit longer than usual so I didn't watch it until last night. A nice format with the road trip and the usual review in short form on the B4437.
It almost got me putting my name down for one to come in about 2029. Really only the price was offputting; I know Harry thinks they're great value but compared to a Caterham (more relevant than a Dodici Cilindri paint job) they still seem expensive. It's also heavier than my MX5 despite the low weight being mentioned by Harry many times. Still a lovely looking thing, and a bit special.

ETA - The sound system sounds very interesting though. Id like to see more detail on how sennheiser are doing that.
Further ETA - https://www.sennheiser.com/en-gb/mobili ... rgan-motor need to have a proper read on that.
The mid dark grey with orange seats and the black wheels - HTH.nuttinnew wrote: Tue Mar 11, 2025 10:49 amscotta wrote: Tue Mar 11, 2025 10:39 am (Ive been on the configurator)

That's addictive and frustrating, how do you decide upon a colour?
Will read that, ta![]()
Morgan have a bit of a problem with new car introductions - if they don't look the same as before, people complain (Aero 8) but if they do, people don't notice. I had no idea they weren't still using ash frames in the Plus 4.scotta wrote: Tue Mar 11, 2025 10:44 am Morgan have a new car announcement in about 5 mins

Presume there will be a harrys garage vid drop around the same time on it.
True. I think the front end changes look pretty good (although they all look a bit clumsy when you compare them to some of the Wiesmann models), but the C-pillar of the hard-top made me think of the 2+2 E-type. Which isn't a good thing.Jobbo wrote: Tue Mar 11, 2025 11:03 am Morgan have a bit of a problem with new car introductions - if they don't look the same as before, people complain (Aero 8) but if they do, people don't notice.
