I guess that's one way to improve the car's green credentials.

I think that’s lovely.

Hand painted decoration on cars is a real dying art, it’s nice to see people willing to pay for it.

I wonder what it does to the insurance cost? (I also expect that the owner is wealthy enough not to care).

My old business partner takes photos of lots of Porsches and has shot some custom painted ones too, here's one:

It's the anniversary of 9/11 so I've been looking at 911s on the Porsche approved used site. Really like this 992 Carrera T; it's specced with the full buckets which is pretty rare: https://finder.porsche.com/gb/en-GB/det ... ned-9Z8L4W

Negligible mileage but 3 owners so I'd want to know what's gone on there.

I know its 10 months old and delivery mileage but is it really acceptable that a 100k 911 has the same power as my 997.2 from 15 years ago. I would vote no...

Far from the fastest 911, but still 258bhp/tonne I think. Which certainly shouldn't feel slow.

I guess that depends on whether you subscribe to the more is better evolution of cars.

If that matters, you can get 493bhp it for under £1200 with a Litchfield Stage 1 tune.

It's a bit more than delivery mileage though the number of owners bothers me more. But it's a T, the purists' 911; it's plenty fast enough:
Top speed
181 mph
Acceleration 0-60 mph
3.8 sec
Acceleration 1/4 mile
12.2 sec

Compare and contrast with the 991.1 Carrera 2 GTS (Porsche's own figures in both cases):
Top speed
189 mph
Acceleration 0-60 mph with Sport Chrono Package
3.8 sec
Acceleration 1/4 mile with Sport Chrono Package
12.1 sec

Having everything black is a bit dull!
How about not having a sig at all?

You have to compromise on throttle response and sound with the turbos so if it has them, it should be bloody well faster to compensate in my view!

Also a tune then voids the warranty which I wouldn't be doing on a sub 1000 mile under a year old car.

The Ts are just a crap performance to value proposition in my view and they don't look great either. You can get a sub 10,000 mile 2022 GTS for the same money or a 73 plate version with 17k on the clock - 473hp and a real world 2.8 seconds to 60. Much better propositions I think, unless you must have something practically brand new.

Having it be called the purists 911 is also a bit of a con from Porsche in my view to justify decontenting it. I'd see it and just think, oh - you've bought a base model with no spec. A 912 of years to come.

It's got what you need - bucket seats (incredibly rare even in the GTS), Bose, sports exhaust, nice alloys - plus a few things I don't care about which would make it more appealing for resale (sunroof and a few trinkets). I think it's a great spec.

Buying a 2yr older car which doesn't have the lovely bucket seats just to have a faster 0-60 time is rather missing the point I think.

Interesting.. I wouldn’t have thought a triple black would be your thing tbh @Jobbo , but it looks good.

Same price for the 992.2 Carrera (which has 9hp more!!1!) and fewer owners. Think the .2 T only comes as a manuel?, so certainly not what you’re looking for. The .2S would be my choice, I think

If I were to spec one new myself it would be a rwd Carrera S and a configurator price for my spec would be £130k or so (plus new car tax which adds, what, £6k?). There's a demo model here which has my basic requirements (even a rear wiper, vanishingly rare): https://finder.porsche.com/gb/en-GB/details/DOP2PL for £124k. I think 80% of that price for a car which is a year old, plenty fast enough and has a rather unique spec with the rear wheel steering and buckets would be great. Considering £80k from a main dealer only gets you a fairly bare early 992 (5-6 yrd old) with plenty of owners and 30k miles, that T looks like a sensible buy to me.

Oh, as for triple black - that's the colour of my S6 and the Cayenne is black outside so it's not that odd a choice. And the T has nice alcantara on the buckets.

DIW Jobbo, the arbitrary number to get to 62 is the only thing that matters when buying a car
