Blackouts suck, one of ur guys had made a snafoo and they had to drop anchor to not take out jetty.

Normal routine......

Blackout, so everything goes off bar anything powered by UPS.
Lots of annoying bleeps.
Black start generator on.
Figure out the problem so check all alarm screens.
Captain asks when power will be back.
Chief engineer says wait FFS.
Lots of faffery.
Restart main engines, close breaker.

One time off the coast of Ghana a load of alarms went off so I went to go down the stairs to my engine and was met halfway by a 2nd engineer soaked to chest height, sea valve pipe failure and lots of panic

They have pretty small bow thrusters compared to the ship size but they are no use with a blackout as a black start generator won’t have enough power to operate them.

This is peak American redneck stupidity. Take a tarmac track, cover it in dirt, in Spring, race a bunch of cars only made for dry racing, realise cars don’t have windscreen wipers, then it rains because it’s Spring, then realise that mud takes way way longer than tarmac to dry so the whole things cancelled.

Good to see that they have shifted the log from the sewers canal.
