Rich, try not to put people off posting about cars eh, such posts are rare enough as it is ;)

Any time you get bored of opening the doors Matty, I'll swap you my Caterham with its Lambo doors for a week 😎
When the weather improves you're more than welcome to use it for a week in exchange for the 7.

Note, it's in the rules than if you crash it, my lending policy states "new for old" - so that'll be an Evora 410. I'm not fussy on colour. 8-)

And seeing as you asked nicely, this is genuinely the only picture I've taken, still in Mikland at this point:

The beautiful scenery of M74 services.
One of the most bizarre places to find the sign, "Drive on the left" as you exit. Even Cairnryan isn't particularly close, and if you got off that ferry you'd have been used to driving on the left anyway

Bugger - the Audi failed the annual test, tyres are cracked. Only three years old but hey - they've taken a ton of heat and crap. Four new Supersports being fitted as we speak, couldn't find PS4Ss for love or money.

Scooby MOT'd, 4 new Dunlop SportMaxRT2's fitted, oil+filter changed, thermostat swapped for a new highflow one and coolant replaced.

Combo, serviced, MOT'd needing only a CV boot.

Navara MOT due next month so it will get the new Turbo it needs then too, hopefully that's the only large bill for it next year.

Carl.

Erm - yeah OK, I guess this one had had it.

I trust you check in with Beany before settling on the Supersports? Wouldn't want to make a rash tyre purchasing decision...

Wow, I thought mine were cracked badly! About the right time for a change there I think.

I felt something go funny on the way to the test centre. Bloody lucky really that it happened when it did and not when I'm out in the sticks like when it happened last time.

this - really don't like it. And it's way too sensitive - a shirt cuff changing the radio channel for example. I wonder if it can be disabled
In two years with my C class I don't ever recall having a problem with the touchpad. I didn't use it either.
Double Cuffs ??

Every time I changed the dynamic setting, the radio would change - used to do my head in...

The delivery driver who dropped the tyres off today seemed surprised that I just threw them straight in the back of the (roof down) BMW, signed for them, then drove back to the office.

I mean, that's one of the best things about ragtops - got something bulky, but not so bulky it won't entirely fit in the cabin? Drop the top, throw it in, top back up, off you fuck, innit?

Well that went well....

Went to put the new Osram +200% super fandango bulbs in the ML.

Drivers side, unbolt fuse box for better access, fit bulb, swear a lot, fiddly twat, success.

Passenger side, the metal clip wasn’t properly attached, so pinged off inside the light. So inner arch out, bumper disconnected, grill disconnected, wing (yes the actual wing) disconnected and managed to get the headlight out, then came the hell of retrieving the the doing from inside the headlight.

It was 2 hours in the end, what a pain.

Also the old bulbs were Osram arc something, the new ones are good but I was expecting more.

I genuinely am feeling less in love with modern cars as I age. It should not take double jointed midget hands and the dexterity of a porn fluffier to change a bulb. It’s a step backwards and makes me want to pop sound deadening into a G Wagon and downgrade technologically for the next family car.

Mumble grumble.

Dave!

Nope. Short sleeved shirt with a couple of pens in the breast pocket. I hope you see the error of your ways and upgrade to my superior level of sartorial elegance. 🤣🤣

Interesting. I have the previous gen +70% xenarc nightbreaker in mine (replacing std xenarc) and they were a noticeable improvement. :?

I’m disappointed that you immediately bought new tyres instead of going back home, spending a month researching what tyre to buy and where to get the best deal whilst asking people on the internet for recommendations before finally getting them fitted. Who the fuck do you think you are?!

Maybe the bulbs it had were particularly good ones, I’ll give it a good run on the way to Scotland so will see how it is then.

That is exactly what I experienced with the new bulbs in the Touareg. Maybe the reflectors have gone dull ? Dunno.

I thought tyre release agent wasn't a thing any more?

Just pulled out of the tyre fitters, and lit the tyres up in first and second.

Woops.
