The future. Lots of could. maybe, mights around in the negative. A forward thinker can maybe see the EU model fail and we will be well out of it. Until it does tho there is no proof, as there is none leaving will be a disaster :D

Nothing says forward thinking like closing our borders to our closest trading partners

You having 2nd thoughts about Scottish Independence then?

Just to be clear - we aren't closing our doors. Do you really think that, even without an FTA, trade will simply cease overnight? It won't. It will likely get more expensive, and in some products a lot more expensive, but that doesn't mean it will cease. It doesn't mean it wil stay that way forever either. And it also means that some extra-EU trade will get cheaper.

I was never for building a border wall and cutting off access

I know I was being hyperbolic, I really see Brexit as a regressive step though. We should be aiming for more relaxed borders for trade and movement not the other way.

Whereas I think we will be aim to aim for the latter more, outside the EU. One aspect of not being in the EU is that it allows us to open up more to the ROW. It also allows us to remove ourselves from EU squabbles that we want no part in fighting - see the previously mentioned EU/US aviation state subsidies war, and its effect on tarriffs etc. I was originally only really pro exit from the EU itself, and would have been happy to remain part of the trading bloc as per other nations, retaining FOM etc. But over the last 6mo or so I've started to lean more to the idea that being completely out isn't such a bad thing on so many levels, especially in terms of the race to green up and implement more sustainable practices.

How we've potentially got there though has been awful, and reflects on all parties badly, particulary ourselves.

I guess we'll wait and see, I'd hate to see us slide more towards the jingoistic isolationism that typified a lot of the campaign talk at the time.

Agreed on the last part.

Reckon a deal is about to be done. Banks shares went up sharply instead of through the floor.

Yes, congratulations on being the first country in the world to impose sanctions on itself. Something to be proud of, I'm sure.

So many wasted meetings and sending politicians over to negotiate a deal and in the end all we needed was for Boris to seduce von der Leyen 4 times over the phone.
How about not having a sig at all?

Not at all. There was a glimpse of hope from the left remain this day would not come to fruition.

I hope they use their brains to support their country from now on.
