On the recommendation of @DeskJockey : UNTAMED on NetFlix.

Gets off to a quick start.

Bana does a pretty good job in this (although his "pretend you're drunk" might need a smidge more polish?), and Yosemite looks absolutely stunning.

I say 8 grumpy misunderstoods out of 10.

After much procrastination by the family, we've started watching Breaking Bad

Just finished series 1 - it's a little different than I was expecting - more humorous moments which catch you off guard amid all the cancer stuff. It's really rather good - I'm surprised it doesn't get talked about more... ;)

better call saul is SO SLOW. i couldn’t be arsed carrying on despite several tries.

with breaking bad, stick with it through season 3 and it’ll be worth it.

It is a bit slow at times, but I'm with Zonda - BB is great, but BCL is greater.

The Gold

Drama on iPlayer about the Brinks Mat robbery in the early 80s (which I vividly remember)

Really good

Better Call Saul is a beautifully crafted show but my wife couldn't bear the slow pace of it. It's not like she has ADHD either.

If you want something to watch after BB, try Weeds - it's more of a comedy and it's about a widowed housewife who turns to selling weed when her husband dies, so a similar idea behind it. It pre-dates BB so is not a rip-off.

ETA: that may not be massively helpful when it seems to be only available as a paid thing on Amazon Prime in the UK and may well be the cut/censored version with no swearing and some scenes omitted to fit with ad breaks for US tv. FFS.

There was an official Breaking Bad and BCL podcast which are such a good listen if you love the show. One per episode and it was always amazing to hear some of the stuff they'd come up with as a "cool idea" and then work back from that to write the episode to end up at that point. Mindblowing stuff.

@Jobbo Thanks for reminding me about Weeds, been meaning to check that out for a while.

I assume Jobbo is talking about Weeds, given he states it's likely cut for US audiences - which Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul very obviously wouldn't be.

It was funny watching BB long long long after everyone else (except dinny) and being fans of How I met your mother. Walter and Saul would definitely be in league with Barney Stinson.

Of course there's the well known story of Bob Odenkirk's HIMYM filming clash leading to the creation of Mike in Breaking Bad.

I was meaning to post about this show around this time, but somehow this passed me by. We enjoyed it, a bit of humour, a bit of drama, bit.of mystery, generally a nicely done show.

The reason I was meaning to post on here was I'm convinced that someone who worked on the show was a car nerd. The Sierra obvs, but there were other vehicles in it too that just felt like they'd been given far more consideration than would be normal for that sort of show. Most episodes I'd be commenting on something related to the vehicle choices.
