Trump
Re: Trump
Teump update:
Pelosi makes murmurings about having a chat about the 25th amendment, the one that covers the fitness of a president to rule.
Trump then makes her point for her by rage tweeting, including a retweet of this, which kinda backs up her position - she needs republican support to raise the 25th formally, and it's a legitimate strategy if the president is, you know, fucking crazy.
Amazing.
Also, trump wasn't green screened (no, really, he wasn't - it's compression artifacts, they're time based), and a bunch of white supremacists were nicked for plotting to kidnap a dem politician, who was then literally victim blamed by a senior white house staffer.
Maybe we really are on the b-ark, it's just on a planetary scale
Was speaking to a vendor in the US today, and while good manners prevented any partisan discussion, he has conceded that it's pretty crazy over there - and he's usually a proper chilled out guy.
Makes Brexit look like a local parish council spat about tree surgery.

Re: Trump
Mild update because honestly this is getting too much.
The Taliban have come out and stated that they hope Trump wins.
It's like some kind of weird fever dream, and I say that as someone who has quite recently had fever dreams. Christ alive.

Re: Trump
Well, tonight Trump appeared to suggest that the death of a suspect in the killing of a trump supporter was, err, intentional on his part.
So we can add 'extra judicial death squads' to the list of things he appears to want to be associated with.
For reference, the death of the suspect is already under heavy scrutiny as 20+ witnesses state the authorities failed to identify themselves or wait for a response from the suspect before opening fire.

It's still only Thursday.

This is America, if I had to arrest someone over there when so many carry guns I’d have just lobbed a grenade in and shut the doorBeany wrote: Thu Oct 15, 2020 8:05 pm

Re: Trump
Well, in a turn no one saw coming but no one is really surprised by, it seems in Borat 2 Electric Boogaloo, they managed to get Rudy guililililani to think he was about to get some from a woman who claimed to be 15 years old.
No, really.
Obviously there is a lot of 'taking your word for it' going on here, but that's be a hell of a risk to take (legally) if they weren't sure they could get away with it from a defamation standpoint. And in terms of plausible deniability, shoving your hands down your trousers in front of someone who you have been told is fifteen but who you think might be older still isn't exactly a good look
Also, trump walked out of an interview with CBSs 60 Minutes, and he has business dealings in China that appear not to have been documented to well in his statements regarding conflict of interest to the US Govt, where he has paid orders of magnitude more tax to China than he has to the US.
.... It's only Wednesday.

Re: Trump
If I'll grant you, it's not impossible it's being pulled out of context.
But that is, from a legal standpoint, in the USA where the lawsuit is king, against a lawyer, a fucking dangerous move unless you can seriously back it up in court.
Unless you're taking about his Chinese bank accounts. Which may be perfectly legit, but look pretty fucking stupid when you're taking the money of Chinese nationals wishlist railing against the Chinese politically.
Regardless of how seriously you take it, my god the last few weeks have been massively entertaining.

Re: Trump
Oh, that - early 'reporting' was of that ilk, seems it might have been after - "no, she's fifteen, she's to old for you" - not enough context as yet. Although even if he had been told she was twenty five, lying down on a bed to 'tuck your shirt in' in a hotel room alone with an attractive woman when you're seventy odd... Not a good look.
I'm not sure how that lying down on a bed to tuck your shirt in thing works (I cant say I've ever done that - standing up to do it is far easier), but I imagine it'll come out in the wash on Friday.
Oh, and do try to remember I'm shit posting on the internet, not the fucking BBC

Re: Trump
Anyway, trump Twitter is now filled with snippets of Obama pretty savagely taking the piss out of Trump, and it looks like something he's been wanting to do for a while.
I'd hardly call it a ripping campaign speech, but he seems to be thoroughly enjoying pointing out the hypocrisy and bonkers shit that Trump has been coming out with lately, and it's worth having a peek if you wondered what his white house press core speeches would have been like if he didn't have to work with those people the next day.
If nothing else, it's refreshing to see an American politician capable of speech that involves competent levels of diction and annunciation.
"If I had a Chinese bank account when I was president, they'd be calling me Beijing Barry"
