My eyes agree with Rich’s
Marv would approve. The black one has standard 19s all round, the blue one has staggered GT-S 19/20s.

They are. And the lack of red brake calipers on the black one is a good thing too.
Apparently the non-S has a rather special passive damper set up which is better for the road, so I’d be keen to go for that rather than the 1/2s a lap improvement of the S.

I’ve always quite liked the shape of the AMG GT but never seen a subtle one before. This is the non-S, and on those simple silver alloys without body addenda I love it. It’s also a bit of a bargain at £60k with only 6k miles. One to keep an eye on; I have a hankering for an original shape R8 but they’re getting on a bit now and this would certainly fulfil the same want.

Would it bother people that the same engine (great as it is) is in loads of other fast-Mercs? (like the old 6.2 n/a) i.e making the GT less special?

Not mad, really - VW fanboys are happy to pay lots of money for old Golfs, even Lupo GTIs. The Corrado has been undervalued for years.
