I learned to drive in a 1.3L Maestro. With the 4speed ‘box! (Which - for a 1984 car was stoopidly poverty spec).

Oooh. Matte paint long before it became an expensive option on high-end cars!

The car I drove after passing my test was my mums '89 Maestro 1.3L. Probably the worst car I've ever driven, even with it being "my" first car I have zero fondness for them!

Yeah, they were awful. Although it’s clear from your comments that you have never driven an Austin Ambassador 1.7L…..

An old friend of mine moved to Phily and has a Rivian. It replaced one of his Model 3's. Looks mean in black and supposedly is a much nicer ownership experience so far.

Ah, my friend's is the R1T (the truck) rather than the R1S there.

The Rivian people carrier is just so half arsed in terms of design. At least the Ford Expedition and Chevrolet Tahoe change a lot of the bodywork so that it doesn’t just look like a pick up truck with a closed roof tacked on the bed.

Don't see many of these around anymore.....and terrible plate, terrible parking:

Number plate is apt at least.

He's done that because he's a shit driver who isn't confident he won't kerb his wheels.

Not seen a Bronco still, but my wife saw a picture of one and loved it. Doubt our hire car will be a Bronco but we can hope

Infiniti FX SV - it was misty murky this morning so didn't bother trying to get a pic with potato cam. I didn't think it would help either; can you picture one without googling?

Within a few minutes of my last post we went out for dinner and there was a Bronco round the corner. Looks good; not as enormous as I had expected, and quite Wrangler-sequel from behind.
