Re: Harry’s Garage
I think the Touring’s front bumper is black plastic, but don’t know if you could spec it colour coded. I didn’t realise they only made 650 Tourings, such a shame as at £135k it seems a bit of a steal!
Guess you’ve seen the ruby GTS? You can spec a brand new .2 GTS for £150k, so I’m unsure why .1s are £110-170k!
Also, and I blame Robyob completely if I buy this when picking up my daughter later, this looks great value:

All of the 992 GT3 Tourings on the approved used site have colour coded front bumpers I think - it's the GT3 RS which has it in black. Definitely looks better painted.IanF wrote: Mon Sep 16, 2024 12:25 pm I think the Touring’s front bumper is black plastic, but don’t know if you could spec it colour coded. The Rubystar Carrera S I kept going back to was reduced to £98,450 a week or two ago but has now sold, it seems. There's a PTS Viola GTS which is tempting me now: https://finder.porsche.com/gb/en-GB/det ... ned-673PMX
But I have a Cayenne to pay for and want to enjoy my MX5 so won't be buying a 911 until next year at the earliest.
Have you seen Jayemm's video from this weekend on a very similar looking grey McLaren 720S to that one? I get the feeling ownership of a McLaren is a bit of an experience...

I thought it was just me... was having a look at a few things last night and noticed there was hardly anything up - I was also sure the Dakar was on there the last time I looked.Jobbo wrote: Mon Sep 16, 2024 11:16 amIt's annoying - they've removed most of the 992 variants because the 992.2 has been launched, but the Dakar was still up until fairly recently despite being sold out ages ago.IanF wrote: Mon Sep 16, 2024 9:19 am Porsche’s website is a bit of a mess currently with very few 911 options when you try to configure one.

I clearly need to shift careers into supercar salesman.

Oh thank fuck it wasn't just me who immediately thought that.

Although I admit I skipped big chunks of that vid - that's a weird one. Bolt clearly not torqued up properly after wishbone repair is extremely sloppy and definitely dangerous. Not sure it is really a reflection on the brand though (in the way that GT4's ripping off the tops of their suspension turrets should have been for Porsche for example)Jobbo wrote: Mon Sep 16, 2024 12:47 pm Have you seen Jayemm's video from this weekend on a very similar looking grey McLaren 720S to that one? I would have thought that would be making some pretty nasty knocking noises before it came out fully though... and v strange that it was held somewhere that the recovery guy could find it, rather than lying in the road.....

I get redirected to the sales page so I'm guessing someone has put a deposit on it
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Harry’s Garage
I think both bolts were in the undertray, so weren't going to fall on the floor. And more than one bolt not being properly torqued is pretty negligent. The likely culprit seems to be the dealer mentioned in the video, from whom the owner previously had a very poor collection experience and rejected an earlier McLaren. Definitely not a dealer I'd be going to.mik wrote: Mon Sep 16, 2024 1:18 pmAlthough I admit I skipped big chunks of that vid - that's a weird one. I skipped too much - didn’t realise two bolts were loose. Piss poor that.Jobbo wrote: Mon Sep 16, 2024 4:57 pm I think both bolts were in the undertray, so weren't going to fall on the floor.
Re: Harry’s Garage
I saw a YouTube short of a 720. It had just come from the dealer brand new still to a detailer to be prepped. One door was so badly aligned it touched the front wing when open.
Also had loose bolts in the engine bay.
Managed to find the clip

Re: Harry’s Garage
Popped to a local car meet yesterday and saw a TVR Tuscan for the first time in yonks. Reminded me of when my mate took delivery of his brand new one and when he pointed out there were bits of the interior trim hanging off he was told to pop to B&Q for some carpet glue as "they all come like that".Mito Man wrote: Mon Sep 16, 2024 6:27 pm I saw a YouTube short of a 720. You aren't paying a quarter to half a million quid for a Tuscan though...Ascender wrote: Mon Sep 16, 2024 8:38 pmPopped to a local car meet yesterday and saw a TVR Tuscan for the first time in yonks. New Countach "Italy trip prep" video up.
I sniggered at the sillyness of the gloves Lamborghini provided in the toolkit - then realised - you can get your own.

Re: Harry’s Garage
Ferrari's parts service sounds craptacular in his latest video too.
Imagine paying the labour to have clutch seals replaced three times because "new" parts are stuffed out of the box.

Re: Harry’s Garage
Makes me wonder how awful Ratarossa’s 512BBi is going to be when he finally finishes rebuilding it. So many new replacement parts, all with potentially the same issues.

Enjoyed the top comment on this video: "Ian Tyrell has his prayer mat out, hoping it all goes well"

Contains Countach on derestricted autobahn

Re: Harry’s Garage
Someone on PH has posted an MOT check for the Countach showing it expired in May

Re: Harry’s Garage
I’m confused by this; Harry catalogues everything about these cars (as they show up in videos and irl at TG, when it existed) and so a car’s MOT lapsing isn’t just whoops but incredibly dumb. I’m sure it was away for servicing or whatever during this period, but I presume they have a per-vid checklist before filming.. didn’t realise this would be a trigger for me!

Cheers,
Ian
