There's a Mansory Anus parked outside my hotel. I'd have taken a picture but I was too ashamed thinking that someone may think that j'approved 😂

I'm sure you understand.

Went to a car meet thingy earlier today. Some interesting stuff there and some good chat.

Parks (dealership) had come along with an Artura, and MC20, and an Emira. maserati looked great.

There were a couple of nice Cobra (reps) - 6.3l Chevy powered - both sounded gloriously filthy. No pics.

Couple of Healy 3000s. This one a hard top with the cool hatch of the race cars. Triple SU carb setup (oem is twin).

New GT3RS with horrible polished wheel finish, but fantastic paint. Apparently a McLaren colour. Very difficult to capture on camera, but it was almost mottled in appearance, and instead of seeing metallics flecks in the paint there were black flecks. Changed shade depending on the angle of the light - really highlighted curves and surface changes. Lovely.

Emira looked good and the interior felt well screwed together. Alcantara wheel felt good to hold at quarter to three, but squareness was just a bit weird. Easier to enter/exit than Evora. Will test drive one, but not sure it is different enough to the Evora tbh.

I’ve seen a lot of those Maseratis about but never realised the doors hinged like that.

Yeah - they seem to need quite some space above, and to the side. Not sure what their advantage is. :?

They're the doors of a billionaire, that's what:

Spotted last night parked at the side of the road in Tewkesbury - a red Alfa 4C. Had crap wheels on it - they looked like the smallest OE alloys painted black.

Did it have a range extender?
I’ve seen a fully electric Italian registered i3 in London before - must have been a long journey!

I don't know if it was an rx. I thought it probably was, then wondered how many fill-ups and how long it took. I also wondered if it had a bigger battery (istr you saying something about them being available in Euroland) and if you could do, say, two charges' worth of mileage in a day with a charge in the middle...then I decided it had come over in the back of a wagon that took a couple of RRs the other way afterwards.

A long journey for the Italian for sure. I don't know if I'd want to do it, but then I've seen Italian registered mk1 Pandas and original 500s here and I'd do the trip in one of those.

Yes they did the biggest battery pack with the Rex but they didn’t bother to convert it to RHD - some difficulty with packaging the heat pump iirc. I had a 10 litre Jerry can for longer journeys which fit perfectly in the frunk. The range extender would maintain charge at legal motorway speeds.

It’s a shame range extenders never caught on as I’d rather have a commuter car with a larger battery pack and lightweight small engine with the benefits of a punchy electric motor powering the wheels vs a conventional hybrid which has a crap engine, small battery, crap electric range and overweight.
The Mazda CX-30 R-EV seems to be a disappointment in this regard as the battery it has is even smaller than the i3 despite being a lardy car and the rotary range extender is too thirty.

Excuse the dodgy framing, had to grab a shot of this as I hadn’t seen one for years. Looked good in amongst the sea of VAG variants round my gaff.
