@jamcg - That Linkin Park sample is mind-blowing. I'd love to be a fly on the wall for these things, to see how their mind works to get from hearing that snippet in the movie to the end result.

Those strings always sounded really unusual/striking - great to see/hear how they did it.
I enjoyed this also.

Oh to have the problem of your music being big enough that someone takes an interest in you using their sample.
I've been having fun sampling old public information films and random bits of poetry. There's plenty of those to look through.

That's brilliant!
Love these things... and yes, there was always something about those strings in the LP track which was unique, but couldn't quite figure out why/how. And now 20 years later I know!

@Ascender I'd have to say that the triangle-assisted pots & pans effort here is pretty bloody good too though

Bit of a click bait title (as it's not entirely accurate), but regardless - this is a really interesting breakdown.

Possibly ftao of @KiwiDave - another track that I'm loving the drums on. (Although from a production perspective I'd like the cymbals and hi-hat to be a smidge crisper / out front). Wads of energy and some sneaky snare and kick drum hits where I wasn't expecting them.
Really deep bass tones in this track too which creates some atmosphere.
Ecca Vandal.
edit: have just had a very quick listen on the proper stereo (via spotify) - there are quite a few aspects of the production that I don't like - but - I do still like what the drummer is doing
2nd edit: found this too

It's wild that the drum loop on Out of Space comes from Bombscare by 2 Bad Mice because I've listened to both of those tunes 100s of times and never made the connection

^^^ Nice to see a bit of Born Slippy at the end.
That song will be 30 years old next year. Incredible, no? Sounds as fresh as anything else on that set.
