Brave indeed.216,454 miles
it's not even particularly quick - 6.3 to 60.Sundayjumper wrote: Thu Nov 16, 2023 11:12 amCheap ? That one’s £19k ! It would be a hugely brave move compared to any BMW/Merc at that age & price.ZedLeg wrote: Thu Nov 16, 2023 10:12 amIf I was looking for a cheap barge to knock around in, a Lexus LS would be high on the list.mik wrote: Wed Nov 15, 2023 9:21 pm I’ve not really been aware of the Lexus LS600 previously.
Visually understated big wafty 440bhp v8 luxury with 4wd security. Auto box but see earlier wafty note. Not bad at all…

Barely broken in. There are older 1UZ lexuses that have done huge miles. Matt Farah’s “million mile Lexus” for example.Beany wrote: Sat Nov 18, 2023 12:14 amZedLeg wrote: Thu Nov 16, 2023 11:22 am That's true but you can find them cheap as chips.

That's is lovely. Great colour!!ZedLeg wrote: Mon Nov 20, 2023 5:22 am I wonder if a tarted up Unimog is worth less or more than a more industrial one. I'd be surprised if it's more.
In the same vein as the Lexus chat from the other day, this is lovely.

Possibly right, as I think most of them are used commercially. You need to have a passion + money to spare + fairly unusual storage capabilities to house one as a "cool 4x4".ZedLeg wrote: Mon Nov 20, 2023 5:22 am I wonder if a tarted up Unimog is worth less or more than a more industrial one. That one is far more appealing, but it'll sell to someone who wants to cut down trees in their hundred acre wood or similar. The Lister chaps's 'mog will not.mik wrote: Mon Nov 20, 2023 7:56 amPossibly right, as I think most of them are used commercially. edit: it's not even going to be that easy to assess, as there are so few available for comparison.
This one is kinda similar for around £58k, but :

... and they are so configurable that I'm not sure there are two the same out there.....![]()
Those old ones are a misery to spend any time in, you're sitting on the front wheel arch and the dog house for the engine is just bare fibreglass. So the noise and heat is incredible. Saying that, I used to amaze people by being able to fall asleep in the passenger seat. I blame early mornings and carbon monoxide poisoning tbh
