I really like that
@scotta alerted me to the fact that MST have finished their Mk2 X-Pack recreation. Mummy!mik wrote: Fri Sep 01, 2023 12:10 pmQuoting Brannen from the youchoob vids thread, but I've been poring over the MST website over the last couple of days. Hadn't previously appreciated that they were manufacturing new shells for these cars. Fabulous. And comparatively cheap.![]()
I'll have a mk2 Fast Road & Track please
Arches
Manuel H-pattern box
2.5 Millington powerplant for 330+ horses
15" minilites (sorry purists)
Obvs this is a mk1, but the colour scheme (minus tints) will do nicely.

I looked at the eBay ad for this S600L estate and it showed £225,000. I looked at the auction when it was live and it was up to £60-65k from memory but wasn't near the end. Sadly Carhuna who ran the auction don't show the hammer price - that's pretty unusual with online auctions so seems a bit scammy. I've not seen definitively what it went for but someone has posted below this video that it was around £130k. Which seems utterly mental.Gavin wrote: Sun Aug 04, 2024 10:50 amThat is awesome!Jimmy Choo wrote: Tue Jul 23, 2024 5:01 pm Propper, propper Jobbo spec interior.

i'm sure the conversation of "I don't want the rear diffuser" would be met with "Ok". They say its pretty much customisable with the spec.Jobbo wrote: Mon Aug 12, 2024 7:14 pm I still like that but can see things I’d prefer done differently - the rear diffuser for instance, I’d omit.
Does make me wonder if they’ll jump the shark at some point though.
I'm sure they could - and they could leave off the other stuff which is OTT and gauche too, and make a modern replica of an RS2000. But if that's what they're showing then they run the risk of going down the same road as Singer and producing ugly crap rather than the sort of tasteful restomods Tuthill do.scotta wrote: Wed Aug 14, 2024 9:27 ami'm sure the conversation of "I don't want the rear diffuser" would be met with "Ok". Sir could always select one of the several other Mk2 versions they've been making for some time. Sans X-pack. Sans droop-snoot.Jobbo wrote: Wed Aug 14, 2024 10:09 am

Singer used to offer more standard-looking 911 restomods too, and presumably still do. My point is about the direction MST are going which seems to be the same way as Singer. Which is a shame.mik wrote: Wed Aug 14, 2024 10:16 amSir could always select one of the several other Mk2 versions they've been making for some time. Sans X-pack. I'm going to assume the one above isn't a production car. Or it's only for driving on the surface of the sun.Mito Man wrote: Wed Aug 14, 2024 10:21 am I wonder how they look up close in the flesh. The arch extensions with the fake vents which are just black vinyl look like something a 17 year old would bolt onto their Corsa. Cars like these are made up in the details and it’s so far giving me fibreglass GT40 vibes.
If they make versions I don't want in addition to versions I do.... then I'm not really bothered.Jobbo wrote: Wed Aug 14, 2024 10:27 am

Looks appealing but I don’t think I’d ever want to put my hands on that shiny turd-coloured steering wheel.MikeHunt wrote: Mon Aug 19, 2024 9:13 pm https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-detail ... 5079435168
I’ve always thought that there are a lot of negatives to these quality wise, but at a price that’s 10k less than an mx5 I feel like that could be overlooked.
We are related to a now elderly and retired ex porsche mechanic, for as long as I can remover he has maintained that anything post mid 90s is trash and but to a price, it has also ways stuck in my mind for a car costing 5 or 6 figures. At mid 20s can this be forgiven a little?
