Re: Grand Tour Series 3
ok but The Beeb owned 50% of the rights to Top Gear
Re: Grand Tour Series 3
Yes. Ownership of the rights is not the same thing as the presenters' contracts though.
ETA: I'm not sure what we're arguing about here anyway since apparently we're both in agreement with Rich

Just gonna call out that nursery rhyme one. If you remember, it wasn't supposed to go to air, but die on the cutting room floor. Of course it's a stupid thing to say, but he wasn't being deliberately controversial for airing. Yes, they've been deliberately controversial on a number of occasions, but flat earthers who think Argentina was deliberate need to consider the lengths they'd need to go to to do all that.Rich B wrote: Mon Apr 01, 2019 3:51 pmtheres been loads of deliberately provocative stuff over the years - they’re desperate to get a raise out of the locals to get some column inches, whether it’s “slopes” on bridges or mumbling nursery rhymes with n*****r in them.Jobbo wrote: Mon Apr 01, 2019 3:36 pm If the TG/TGT crew were so clever at creating the Argentina and Alabama controversies, you'd think they'd have managed it more than twice in 17 years. Or the fact that they ended up in those situations could perhaps just be chance. Twice in 17 years... yes, almost certainly evidence of a deliberate intention to get a £150m contract with Amazon later. Definitely.

Honestly, think about the process of editing a show and the number of people involved.

And remember, Volkswagen’s V5 are “offset straight 5’s”..
Re: Grand Tour Series 3
Yep, I enjoyed it and laughed out loud in a few places.
Can't wait to hear what the retards are going to complain about though.
Re: Grand Tour Series 3
Very enjoyable!
I get the impression that all the episodes next year will be similar in format to that, which I think will be good

To get an idea of how much help they get, watch the TG Patagonia special and look at the size of the convoy.

I'm aware they have a huge entourage of fixers, photographers, cameramen etc. I was more wondering how much of the actual build they did themselves. Possibly not much, I agree.

Dan is going to flip when he reads this
Re: Grand Tour Series 3
I haven't watched all of this week's yet so they may have answered it but does anyone know if they're planning to still do car reviews, mini documentary, etc. just not with the studio segments? If its all adventure special trips that would be somewhat of a loss.
Re: Grand Tour Series 3
Not so sure - there are some tweets from Mauro Calo who does a lot of the stunt driving saying that he may be looking for a job...
