On a cold day when the oil is warm but exhaust still cold it will also very occasionally make a proper crack as well if you shift on the redline.

Best part is I can flick a switch and have it whisper quiet again.
Pfft, who switches it to quiet?!

The Exige is comically loud with the valve open and loves to bang on start up if it’s hot. I think I’ve closed the valve once.

The Golf fartR on the other hand was mildly amusing for about 5 minutes, but it gets tiresome pretty quickly. Much like the piped in Soundaktor.

Exactly. If you have an engine with >4 mallets then it should be on loud.

The Evora defaults to quiet until you hit the Sport button. AKA the Always On Button.

Useful for early morning starts and pulling up outside the house when the nipper is sleeping! Otherwise, yes - mostly it stays in asbo mode. :D

M4 GTS seems a more appropriate comparison than a GTR / 911 / Huracan etc. in that it's appeal is as a rare, limited edition, collectors car as much (or probably more) than because of how it drives. Compared to the GTS the Project 8 has less than half the production numbers and more than 100bhp more, for only about 20% more money. The Project 8 is a bargain! :P

I do think Harry should have made his involvement in its development clearer in the video though.

This got us thinking: what other race series would you like to see next? Here’s a few suggestions. A one-make race series in Mini Ones for Foxtons estate agents. A race series of Ford Fiestas run by pensioners only called Barry, and one for Vauxhall Corsas for 17-year-olds born on a Tuesday.
I had a little snicker at that paragraph :D

One that Harry hasn't been involved in developing, so you can all enjoy it.

I didn't know people on here felt that way about Harry, but, whatever... <shrugs>

I got halfway through and turned it off sadly. The car is pretty but doesn't get my juices flowing.

The enjoyable HG videos are the ones where he reviews his own cars where he has intimate knowledge of them, otherwise they’re all a bit meh.

Jay Leno’s garage was also the same, then he ran out of his own cars to review and started doing new cars or other peoples cars and the show rapidly went south.

Black doesn’t show off its curve. Alfa metallic red whateveritscalled, or metallic white would be my preference.

And the 4.7 is one of the best sounding engines I have ever heard (albeit it was in the Maserati).

But £220k?

8C video is definitely worth watching for the noise :!:

The noise is FG but the rest of the car doesn't do it for me. It looks teh ballz from the front/rear but side on it's a bit stumpy. I like the seats but the rest of the interior is a let down. The price is a pisstake. It made even less sense when Harry mentioned the 599 as an alternative.

It's just an upgraded Maserati GT. Overrated. Will not be buying.

They were just over £120k new for a coupe and hit £100k some years ago so must have appreciated quite a bit. Always thought it was reasonably priced for a limited edition carbon bodied car so I’m not surprised that it’s appreciated.

Didn't expect the cabin noise to be so high. That engine tho 8-) 8-)

Also, 4.7 Maser GT's are £25k now if you want a budget 8C....

I think they’re absolutely stunning, but the i also think the Maser GT is stunning too.

Yes, I like them lots, but not really in black, and not for £200k+

Sounds all the better for no dsg fart too

I had no idea the boot was so daft, surely there must be loads of empty space floating around under there they just could find a decent way to be able to access it neatly :?

I didn't realise so much of the interior was bare satin carbon, that hollow echoing drumming must exacerbate the suspension issues somewhat, but is kind of cool and is obviously the reason they offered a similarish looking plastic version on the mito. I think because I'm so used to it now that the mitos lower mounted numberplate opening combined with the single round lights is actually a better looking layout

Yes, I remember reading about it on EVO back then. Stupid really (like the Jaguar F-Type). Must be the gearbox location. Lovely seats and fitted luggage though 8-)

Like Mito said, for a couple of years they were close to 100k / below list price, but now silly; much like Ford GT’s prices.

For years whenever I took my car in for a service at the Alfa dealer they had an 8C or two at around £100k which gave me hope I could pick one up for peanuts one day  Even if I had a few million sitting in the bank I don’t think I could stump up £200k for one as they’re by all accounts pretty shit.
