I decided to check out the KTM UK forum to see what people were saying about the Superduke GT.

As far as I can tell:

- The semi-active suspension is brilliant
- The semi-active suspension is terrible
- The seat gets really hot in traffic
- The seat doesn’t get hot in traffic
- The wind protection is really good, especially the easy to adjust screen
- The wind protection is terrible, I’ll need a taller screen
- The wind protection is terrible, I’ll need a shorter screen
- The easy to adjust screen is hard to adjust
- No it isn’t
- Fuck you

It’s good to know one make forums haven’t changed.

Oh and a little update on my part - theory test booked for next week.

If I pass, I'll book up the intensive course for a full license.

Upgrading brakes - which is best place to start?

There’s not a lot to it: discs, pads, calipers, hoses, master cylinder.

What are you trying to achieve? Firmer feel at the lever? Are you getting fade? Do you need to stop quicker?

For starters, I’d upgrade the pads to EBC HH sintered and swap the 13 year old rubber hoses for braided ones.

New fluid, then new pads and make sure you bed them in properly.

This is also the correct time to fit speed bleeders to the calipers and master cylinder, but no-one ever listens to me on this - just trust me on this and fit them, they're superb.

Fluid change before fitting them - pump lever, pump lever, pump lever, pump lever, pump lever, pump lever, pump lever, pump lever, open bleed nipple, expel 5ml of old fluid, close nipple, pump lever, pump lever, pump lever, pump lever, pump lever, pump lever, pump lever, pump lever, open bleed nipple, expel 5ml of old fluid, close nipple, pump lever, pump lever, pump lever, pump lever, pump lever, pump lever, pump lever, pump lever, open bleed nipple, expel 5ml of old fluid, close nipple, pump lever, pump lever, pump lever, pump lever, pump lever, pump lever, pump lever, pump lever, open bleed nipple, expel 5ml of old fluid, close nipple, and so on.

With speed bleeders - open bleed nipple, pump brake lever until new fluid comes out, close bleed nipple.

If this doesn't improve stuff, then new lines and then a new MC. I'm assuming the discs and calipers themselves are still AOK as you shouldn't be reaching the limits of a superbike's brakes riding on the road unless they're broken

But yeah, as Dave says - what're you trying to improve and / or fix?

The front works but isnt very good. Its had a new master cylinder under warranty and while that improved things a bit the brakes are still spongey.

I'd like to be able to stop with a couple of fingers basically.

If I did a trackday as is they would be terrible I know for sure.

A brembo superbike kit is overkill at 1250.00 even for my vast skilz

Hoses. And if that isn't enough, that master cylinder JL raves about.
