Well, that was a frustrating weekend.
The vertical faces of the planks were showing and looked terrible so I went back with an artists paint brush and filled it in. Sadly, that made it look worse so I ripped it all up and I'll start again next weekend.
On the plus side, I now know how to do it properly and the hardest part (fixing the floor and removing any place settings) is done.
On the downside, the original deadline of 2nd December is looking less likely.

Getting there with the master bedroom now... mere months after we started!
Ceiling was re-skimmed after chipping off all the aborted skim that flaked off.
New fitch style locks on the windows to replace the tatty old screw down brighton style ones:
Shiny new solid brass rim lock to replace the £5 pressed metal ones from B&Q that were on there previously.
Cheapo £1.50 light switches and plug sockets also to go in due course plus new knobs for the cupboard.
Naturally given our run of bad luck with this job, when I was sealing the ceiling for the second attempt at skimming, I managed to spill paint which the first decorator had ingeniously hidden under the bed, so now we need to replace the carpet too (though thankfully it is a cheap one so will only be another couple of hundred quid but still...)

Looks like a Lovely proportioned room to start with - nice colour scheme with the green and dark wood too.

Thanks, Rich - its effectively the full width of the house so a pretty big master bedroom - would have looked even bigger before the previous owners added those fitted wardrobes.
The colour is actually blue rather than green (F&B Oval Room Blue) but like most of their colours it is actually grey with various different other pigments mixed in which resemble the name of the paint pretty much at random
ETA: oh and we painted the front door and replaced the locks/door furniture too. Not quite sure why I took the photos before cleaning off the fingerprints

Green is probably not quite as light in real life as it looks in the picture of the door alone.

Couldn't see it on my phone but it's fine in Chrome on my PC - no doubt Google anti-competitive behaviour

Ive had it before where google images wouldn’t open on my phone, then I opened them up on a pc and they opened on the phone too. Bizarre.
Doors in!
The under floor heating is a few days behind, which puts a bit more pressure on me for the flooring, but it should be ok.

I like your doors

They're sliding rather than bifolds, are they? The much smaller frames make such a difference.

Do you have an Android phone or use the Chrome brower on your phone? Still not showing in Safari on my iPhone.
