Nice looking car. Haven’t checked prices - is there a royal owner premium in there?

Quite confusing thread resurrection btw

Surely that will go to some Chinese collector??

Immaculate servicing I would agree (does this mean it was serviced by the secret services or merely that it was serviced secretly*?). Suspension will be cream crackered at that age if it hasn't had a major overhaul.

And not just maintenance, I bet it got a 10x more QA before delivery than a car for regular punters.

I would assume that whoever is responsible for secretly servicing cars for her maj is shouldered with ensuring the vehicle never has a breakdown during use, therefore surely it will have had loads of preventative maintenance done.

In fact, I got picked up by one of these when going to the airport about 10 years ago. Had booked a normal cheap-ass minicab and one of their luxury drivers turned up instead. It really was very nice car to be a passenger in.

My other half used to work for Volkswagen and the Royal’s cars were serviced at the Main VW training centre in Milton Keynes.

Harry and William had a series of Golf’s and Princess Anne had a Sharan

I can’t see it really adding much value. Just because it had one good owner, doesn’t mean the last one treated it well. It’s not a particularly desirable car otherwise?

Just another old jag driven by someone more concerned with painting the alloys black than keeping legal tyres on them.

I've always had an unjustified objection to black wheels. I think that just hit the nail on the head.

Nonetheless, I'm now browsing XJs and thinking I might need one for driving to the office once a month

in that one year, all that supposed "secret service Q division pre-empted servicing" was allowed to slip into being just another badly maintained family snotter.

I take it you don't like XJs, Rich
Don't let that dirty your correct observations.

I don't know whether to belm or laugh at covering the reg in the ad pics then putting a pic of an XJ at Buckingham Palace as if it's proof of anything...if it's proof of anything, it's proof it's had lights removed from behind the grille.
I can't recall how the keeper is worded in instances like this (The Crown?), but it's like buying a "one company owner" car and the company is a car hire business.

That bloke in Bradford must be hugely jealous of this ad, fuming that he's been outdone.
