Props on sentence nr 1

- it did seem like an uncharacteristically defensive answer in your last post!
I'll watch the next GP and report back with my findings. BUT - you have to watch the next Moto GP.
I totally get the off-track drama appeal, BTW. Moto is also like a soap opera.
And no, this isn't a 'my hobby is better than yours' thing, I'm way too old for that!

All this “I live in Dubai” pish, when all this time he’s been a vicar.
Mate - if I was a vicar, I'd bankrupt them in holy water boiling as soon as I crossed the threshold

Well that’s one way to guarantee a pole to chequered flag procession!!
MotoGP is excellent, i used to watch loads in the early 2010s with Valentino Rossi. I kind of lost interest and wouldn’t even know what channel to watch it on now. EVERYONE is going on about how good it is at the moment though, so I will give it another go if I can find it.

Oh I never knew you used to watch it! I'm a recent convert and total fanboy nowadays. Do try and catch some. I genuinely think Marquez is a once-in-a-lifetime type of racer, even when he doesn't win he's guaranteed to provide some wtf moments.
That old fucker Rossi is still there or thereabouts, by the way.
Edit - watch this year's Dutch GP if you get time. Fucking amazing racing.

This has been a good season for F1, Monaco and Spa the two most boring.
We need to see Ferrari fuck up the drivers championship this year and for Merc to catch up in the off season so we get another good year out of it. If Ferrari win the championship this year by walking all over Merc then the next season will be a walk over, we just don't know whether that'll be Merc through their ability to develop at a rapid rate of knots or Ferrari by keeping up the momentum.
Merc winning this year will be some fire into the two teams for next year because there's easy ground to be gained on both sides.

Yep most the races have been quite exciting this season. I saw a clip of the channel 4 coverage on YouTube where they said that Ricciardo after his first corner crash - where he was missing his entire rear wing and half his front wing (without realising) - took Eau Rouge flat out and recorded the highest speed down the Kemmel Straight setting a purple sector in the process before the safety car was called. Quite impressive.

Couldn't he have saved that for the race?
Edit to add: one of the F1 pages on Facebook posted a picture of him drinking from a bottle of champagne before hand, if that's true he's in for the biggest bollocking ever, if not a sacking.

Remarkably similar to his effort in Hockenheim. Must have been a damp track.

I hope it pisses it down for at least half of the races left.

I think it scraped the ground as I saw some pictures with the top of it looking cracked.

Things normally do break when you drive fast into a wall.

Reading about the Mercedes and Ferrari rivalry is interesting and it doesn’t look good for Mercedes. Ferrari have essentially taken the Red Bull concept of running rake and pretty much nailed it this year. They can generate as much downforce as Mercedes but with much less drag as their floor is much more efficient. Mercedes have consistently had to run larger rear wings this year. Last year they were pretty even as Ferrari had a shorter car, and shorter floor but their chassis is the same length as the Mercedes this year so they get the full advantage.
Moving on to next year with the 2019 rule changes the floor becomes even more important and Mercedes will probably have to change to the rake concept but apparently it’s not as simple as jacking the rear up and requires the whole suspension to be reworked. Not something easy to master in less than a year.

Anyone else really surprised that Hamilton didn’t just come in on his final Q3 run? He’d have wrecked Vettel’s lap and been second.
