Thought I'd start by installing the software and getting it activated, but whilst copying it to the VM, there's a trojan virus in it.... *sigh*
Files are on a DVD, so what's the options on Windows? Could I put them on to a USB drive and then try to get something like Avast to clean them? Then copy to the machine?

Check the specific file your antivirus claims to be a virus
Might be fine
If not, run through a new VM?

What Oor Nathan said. Bear in mind that the quite, quite wonderful
https://www.nirsoft.net/ tools - most of them get picked up as viruses because they break some 'soft' rules that antivirus programs scream about to make themselves look more useful than they actually are.

Most Keygen's will be flagged as a virus, despite not really being so. Part of me thinks it's AV companies just flagging them to keep people buying 'proper' software, or maybe it's just a common signature in them that's dodgy, but it's rarely a true positive in my experience.

If you were going to sell privately... selling a Porsche means you're going to deal with a lot of twats. I'd just get the one you want in the first place
This.
Just revisiting this thread and OMG this

There's no keygen included which is weird, have installed avast which has cleaned it and I've mailed the seller with the activation file needed.
Popped to Porsche earlier to pick up the locking wheel nut key I need to get this last wheel sorted and.... they've ordered the wrong one
They had a nice GT3 RS in and a GT4, but it was the Ferrari garage across the road which had people wandering around taking pictures of the cars.

Drove the motorway today on our way south. Traffic was moving but slow, 35 mpg. Unreal.

I was averaging 30 on our Scotland trip. Itās about 3000 rpm for 70mph in 6th which I guess isnāt great for economy.

Still not bad. I have an XL base camp north Face in the back with a large in the front with other bags. Can't say the handling was great with over 100kg of clobber in it.

That's a pretty decent pule of luggage you crammed in there. The car is surprisingly practical.
mik Here's the issue I have, appears to be pretty common with cars in the UK climate.

I know you are half way through the job, but if this is a common issue you can guarantee specialists like Motortune have a std process to address. When I got my 944S2 it almost immediately went to Mr McAnna to perform his std ācalliper refreshā to ensure they were all working. New seals n shizzle and any dodgy pots replaced. Costs were very good from memory. Might be worth a call?
In saying this, I canāt see any reason why they would be essential when I have never seen any other manufacturer using them. I would be inclined to prize them off and bin them. If anything is stuck inside a pot - just use a file or whatever to make sure nothing is sitting proud.

I think I'd be able to get them out if I take the whole caliper apart, but then that's disconnecting the brake lines etc. I think I'll probably replace the pads & disc on the other side, then look to do this as my next job.
I need to get the coolant pipes done so will mention the pistons as well - you're right, its probably the sort of thing they will be able to sort as bau work.

I didn't put them back in when I did the front pads on mine. Can't say I've ever noticed any difference.

Ditto on my 996 C2.

Was the same on the other side - one of each of the two cylinders was jammed inside the piston so I've just left them and will get them removed next time.
90 minutes to do the passenger side disc and pads, amazing the difference in time when the screws on the discs aren't completely fecked.
Squeaking brake noise has gone!
I know like Wheeler Dealers you have to factor your own time in, but £270 as opposed to £770, I'll take that.

Carnewal gt exchange is current plan. He's out of stock at the moment and I'm in no rush as it's now winter.

Brakes - mine are squeaking big time and a bit bobbly so I am thinking they need attention. You lot - what you are you do.
