Been looking at buying a bumped id3/4 or equivalent Skoda to play with.
Seemingly loads out there advertised as requiring a new traction battery, but all they need is the pyro fuses replacing in the battery pack, all bits are available from VW, just needs the pack dropping for access.
Been looking at the best way to lift the car on the drive without getting a 2 post ramp.
There’s one which comes to our local retro car meets and is a great replica. Only letdown is it sounds like a v8 and has a very weird / unusual / homemade looking bit at the back under the exhaust.

Started off as a Renault 30 apparently, so that'll likely be a breathless 2.7 V6 pushing a whopping 150bhp-ish then.....

Found a different link. 150 was…… optimistic
Powered by its original 2664cc V6 engine producing circa 126bhp and 150ft.lbs of torque mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox

There was a fake Bugatti for sale at Goodwood - I think it was this one. It looked laughably bad in the flesh and I almost pissed myself when I saw the price and then the manager/owner of the dealer gave a hate filled stare. https://www.carandclassic.com/l/C1594552
All the cars they had for sale were crap replicas, most of them piss poor fibreglass GT40s…

Googling the plate it's a steal, it was up for £240,000 4 months ago...

For that kind of money do you want to be the one explaining you spent *that* much on a fake car when people ask?

I mean, if you want something with a twin turbot Audi engine, just buy an R8 V10 and get someone to fit turbots on it.
Pretty sure you could throw a pair of snails on that for, well, I don't know how much it costs to push air into an R8 V10, but I'm sure you'd have change from a badly put together Veyron clone.
Not that people interested in actually fast cars would be looking at that. It'd be people like my former employers CEO, desperate to look more affluent than they actually are.

I'm guessing the replica builder ideally wanted a W16 with 4 turbos but didn't have the budget for it and bought the cheapest VAG based mid engine car they could find. And ruined it.

^ It isn't R8 based; tiptronic 'box and 4.2 TT = C5 RS6. Look at the dash/clocks/stalks/steering wheel/etc in this pic; https://www.carandclassic.com/l/C1594552#&gid=1&pid=10
What's the betting it's still front engined?
Of course, you could always go for something more legit;
I don’t see how it could have a 21 plate if it was a re-panelled C5 RS6; those donor interior parts and engine wouldn’t prevent an otherwise new car having a new reg though. The proportions also look wrong for it to be front engined.

It's presumably just a tube chassis kit car with Audi engine
