I love that, I really like the looks actually.

Had heard of The Pembleton before so was keen to see a video of one. Like it a lot, but would be hard to walk passed Caterham and buy one of these instead. Although appreciate it has a different kind of appeal.
I remember liking the idea of them, a bit like a Morgan 3 Wheeler but with the correct number of wheels but then I realised they're front wheel drive which is just a bit ...shit.
How about not having a sig at all?

I don't understand how it is only 360kg when the previous Morgan 3-wheeler in its lightest form was 525kg - 46% more. Has it been measured by weighing one end of the car only? Fwd is also a bit crap.

ETA: the Moto Guzzi V7 Special which shares its engine with the Pembleton weighs 203kg dry or 223kg wet. And that is a motorbike.

Further edit: Johnny mentioned the inboard brake disks but in the shot while he was doing so, normal outboard brake disks appeared to be visible, so I'm guessing the inboard front disks are simply a consequence of using 2CV bits. It's a better looking Lomax, then. Even the Lomax weighed 430kg or 450kg in 4-wheel form.

Much bigger engine in Morgan, 2l v 0.75l, then prop shaft, bigger box etc

I'm glad they make it though, not sure who would buy one over a basic Caterham though!

<sets playback speed to 1.5x and finds self repeatedly scanning forward anyway>

It is tiny though. Johnny appears to taking up significantly more than 50% of the width of the interior, and he’s (tall but) pretty skinny.

Edit; my £40k would be spent elsewhere I’m afraid.

You wouldn't want to be on the pavement on the outer side when that goes round a corner! What's the point of the long pointy nose anyway?

Aero slipperiness I guess, it's a Colani trait.

True. I wonder, if you pierced them in the right place, could you get some fan assist on the straights?

I stumbled across some videos from a guy called Robbert Ablas at the weekend

He races classic (mainly 70s it seems) racing cars

Some excellent on-board, high quality footage, and most importantly sound

Really good content

Much mashing and sawing:

A particularly good vid from M539 again, on a strip down of the replacement S65 for his M3.

The comparison and theories over the main bearing wear is good. Doesn't seem to be that common an issue when you look online but he seems to think it might be.

I’ve not watched the vid, but when I was a regular on a couple of M3 forums the e90 section was pretty much entirely filled with big end wear questions, posts, advice, horror stories, oil analysis results, people changing or getting them changed etc.
Cheers, Harry

Yeah, the rod bearings is something I was well aware of but the main bearings not so much. I'm sure he's causing a few ruffles by bringing it up
