It's an achingly cool car, get it on the road.

Dave, what's the current status of the 500E? Not a dig, I know you're talking from experience though.
It's at a secret location enjoying the company of rock stars superstars and group c race cars 😎

I want to get the paintwork done, every panel has damage and the week where it got hit 3 times really annoyed me.

Current option is to get the bodywork dents done and the bit of rust under a tail light sorted and then wrap it my favourite 500e colour....this will be about 8-10k

Or swallow the 20k a proper respray would cost but as I'm pushing for an early retirement it's hard to take the money away from investments etc.

I have a plan involving some shares but Reeves is screwing that with capital gains tax so I may struggle to do that also.

A reminder of what Mr Flew did to the underside....

Basically, I've drunk too much bitch sauce and need to just get it done 😂

You'd think that but the springs are only about 3 years old. Shocks are about the same. I'll investigate once the weather warms up a bit.
If you get all wobbly-lipped about the opinion of Internet strangers, maybe it's time to take a bath with the toaster as you'll never amount to sh1t anyway.

Ordered some Kumho (which I'll continue to pronounce coo-mo) Ecsta Sport PS72's which have got some decent reviews in recent tests. Fitting Friday.

I couldn't get hold of any Rainsport 5's, which are my primary choice, and PS5's are needlessly expensive for a city runabout, so should be decent. £350 for all 4 fitted not bad either

It’s never going to beat Marv’s 968.
Actually, that's a good point, I got my 968 back on the road in 2025. I could have finished in 3rd if I only posted a pic of it in the FECPOTY 25 thread.

Does storing it for the winter renew its application for FECPOTY 26?

What about my green, RWD, eight speed, lightweight, modified (taller gearing for more speed) mode of transport? Does that count?

Pfffft

You're never actually in charge of FECPOTY. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Car dropped off at the garage to determine what the squeak at the front end of the engine is - probably an idler pulley but might be AC/Alternator bearings - easier to diagnose on a ramp etc. Also to finally ID the suspension clunks.

Once those are sorted, I'll rebook it for a couple of weeks time to get all the fluids swapped, and the wiper position contacts cleaned up.

MOT due end of Feb so might as well get that booked in, too, thinking about it.

Otherwise nothing to report, unless they find something interesting.

Zoe booked in with the auto electrician to figure out why the HRW and heated seats aren't working.

Could be a fuse, but the HRW fuse is not accessible unless you have five joints in each finger.
